πŸ™ A wonderful meeting with Hengistbury Investment Partners, whose support of Classrooms in the Clouds continues to make a huge difference to children in rural Nepal.

πŸŽ‰ The visit was made even more special when David Fairweather presented Dawa with an envelope containing Β£112.84 raised by his daughter, Poppy.

πŸ’– Inspired by the work being done to improve access to education in Nepal, Poppy set up her own lemonade and brownie stand πŸ‹πŸ§and raised the money herself to help support children her own age on the other side of the world.

πŸ‘ We're incredibly grateful for Poppy's kindness, initiative and generosity. It's inspiring to see young people helping to create opportunities for their peers in Nepal.

πŸ™Thank you, Poppy, every pound helps us bring quality education closer to children in some of Nepal's most remote communities. πŸ”οΈβ€οΈ

πŸ™ Dawa was absolutely delighted to meet the members of the Latham & Watkins Litigation team to personally thank them for taking on the epic Chamonix Twin Peak Hiking Challenge.

πŸ”οΈ Climbing two peaks in two days, they pushed through incredible elevations and altitudes to raise over Β£13,600 to support better educational opportunities for children in rural Nepal.

✨Dawa was able to share updates on our current projects in the Solukhumbu, illustrating the profound impact this funding will deliver on the ground.

A massive thank you to the Latham and Watkins team and to all that supported them! ❀️

🏫 A wonderful visit to The King's School Canterbury!

πŸ™ Dawa had the opportunity to personally thank representatives from School House and Harvey House for their incredible fundraising support.

🌏 He also met with pupils involved in the NEPortAL project, a sister-school partnership connecting students at King's with their senior school peers at Shree Garma School in Nepal. Dawa gave a presentation, shared updates from Nepal and answered questions from the students.

πŸ‘ A huge thank you to Ben Landymore for organising such a memorable day. Dawa was also treated to a tour of what is believed to be the world's oldest continuously operating school and had the pleasure of meeting members of staff, including Head Teacher Jude Lowson, Senior Deputy Head Alex Patton, and Deputy Head (Co-Curricular) Greg Hunter.

πŸ’™ We are incredibly grateful for King's ongoing support and commitment to building meaningful connections between young people across the globe.

🌟We're very excited to let you know that CITC has been selected to participate in Big Give's 'Small Charity Week' campaign running from Midday 22nd June - 5pm 29th June🌟

πŸ’ͺ Help us to raise our target of Β£10,000 which will be DOUBLED to Β£20,000 through Big Give's match funding and support female teachers in rural Nepal πŸ’–

πŸ“š Situation: In rural Nepal, gender inequality and limited access to education prevent many capable women from pursuing professional teaching careers. Formal qualification routes and testing often disadvantage women, particularly in remote regions such as the Solukhumbu. This results in a shortage of well-trained female teachers and a lack of visible role models for girls in schools.

🎯 Our Campaign: CITC runs a teacher sponsorship programme that identifies motivated women based on character and potential, not formal qualifications alone. We provide structured training, ongoing mentoring and supported teaching roles within local schools, sponsoring up to 30 female teachers at a time. This enables women to build skills, confidence and professional experience, progress towards government teaching exams and secure long-term, sustainable employment.

πŸ“… What can you do?:
- Put a calendar reminder in your diary between 22nd - 29th June, adding this link: https://donate.biggive.org/campaign/a05WS00000CEiTiYALπŸ“†

- Have your debit/credit card ready to make a donation πŸ’³

*Please note, the donation button will appear on the campaign page when the campaign launches!

On this day in 1953, Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay became the first climbers confirmed to reach the summit of Everest. πŸ”οΈ

In the years that followed, Hillary worked alongside Sherpa communities to help build schools across the Khumbu region, creating opportunities for generations of children.🏫

A reminder that the most lasting achievements aren’t only measured in metres climbed, but in opportunities created.

We’re proud to continue supporting education in the Khumbu, where resilience, ambition and community remain as strong as the mountains themselves.πŸ‡³πŸ‡΅

Building work continues in the village of Garma where the 6 new classrooms are really taking shape with the earthquake-resistant structural work in place and the roof being finalised. 🏫 The project will also include an outdoor play area, gender-friendly toilets and a clean water system. So exciting to see the progress! πŸ‡³πŸ‡΅

A lovely example of parental engagement at Shree Lukla School, supported by CITC.

38 parents and teachers recently came together for the Annual School Orientation Programme to reflect on the past year, explore plans for the year ahead and strengthen their shared commitment to children’s learning and development.

The sessions focused on the ECD curriculum, learning resources, and the introduction of new Phonics classes to help build strong reading and literacy foundations for young learners. πŸ“šβœ¨

Thank you to Education Support Leader Chhiring for sharing these inspiring moments πŸ’–

πŸŽ‰ Happy International Women’s Day 2026! πŸŽ‰ ♀️

This International Women's Day, we celebrate the women who teach, lead and inspire and the girls who learn, grow and dream!

By sponsoring female teachers in rural Nepal, we open doors to careers and provide strong role models for girls. With gender-specific toilets and menstrual health support, we help girls stay in school confidently and reach their full potential. Together, we’re breaking barriers and building brighter futures! ✨
