Caldy Open Gardens 2025 THIS SUNDAY!!!!! – the biggest garden event on the West Wirral! It’s time to plan your day 👉🏼 https://www.caldyopengardens.com/plan-your-day
We’re thrilled to welcome you to this special day, which not only celebrates the beauty of our village but also raises thousands of pounds for Age UK Wirral.
🎫 Important Ticket Information
Due to safety considerations, insurance requirements, and the physical layout of the village, we’ve had to limit the number of tickets available. This means:
- Only pre-booked ticket holders can attend
- No tickets will be available on the day
- No last-minute add-ons or extras can be accommodated
The person who made the booking must bring ID that matches the name on the reservation
If a friend or family member gave you a ticket, and they won’t be attending, you’ll need to know the full name of the person who made the booking. This helps us prevent fraudulent use of tickets.
🖐️ Registration & Entry Times
Registration opens at 11:00am
Gardens and attractions open from 12:00 noon
All ticket holders must register on arrival to receive a wristband – this is required for entry into all gardens and attractions.
Please head first to one of our two registration points:
- Croft Drive West (ideal for visitors arriving from West Kirby)
- Junction of Croft Drive East & Barton Hey Drive
Your ticket will be scanned, and you’ll be given:
- A wristband for entry
- An event programme, containing:
- A full map (no separate maps will be given)
- Garden locations
- Refreshment stops
- WC locations
- Accessibility details
📱 Show your ticket barcode on your phone or bring a printed copy for the fastest check-in.
Tickets will be scanned using connected systems that detect duplicates or fraud. Anyone without a valid ticket will be refused entry.
🚗 Parking & Travel Tips
Caldy’s beautiful, historic streets weren’t made for traffic! There’s no official event parking, but we recommend:
On-street parking in Caldy (no double yellow lines), though expect delays when leaving.
Caldy Car Park (Croft Drive, 50 spaces – fills quickly).
Thurstaston Car Parks (near Flissy’s Coffee Shop, 15-minute walk via the Wirral Way).
West Kirby Public Car Parks (station and Morrisons – 25-minute scenic walk).
Public parking near The Cottage Loaf or Hickory’s Smokehouse (free).
Please park considerately:
- Don’t block driveways
- Avoid parking on pavements
- Leave space for vehicles on narrow roads
🐶 Dogs
We love dogs – but no dogs are allowed in any gardens or attractions (except licensed assistance dogs). This is for insurance and safety reasons. Thank you for understanding.
💳 Cash & Card Payments
All sites accept card payments, but cash is welcome and helps us avoid processing fees – meaning more goes to Age UK Wirral.
The Church Hall is cash only
Please be patient with our volunteer-run card machines
Bring some cash just in case!
🌿 Plant Sales
Don't miss our plant sale, featuring home-grown beauties from across West Wirral. If you buy a plant, you're welcome to leave it at the sale site and collect it later.
Label your plant clearly (with a tag, marker, or coloured bag). Volunteers will assist where possible, but storage is at your own risk.
💛 Run by Volunteers
From the generous garden owners to the event team and helpers, Caldy Open Gardens is entirely volunteer-run. Every penny raised goes directly to Age UK Wirral.
By buying a ticket, you’ve already made a real difference – thank you.
We can’t wait to welcome you to Caldy on the day. Let’s make it one to remember!
Warm wishes,
The Caldy Open Gardens Team
