A walk through memory lane! We recently requested our first annual reports from Companies House which were completed before everything went electronic. We’ve enjoyed looking through the reports and seeing how the organisation has grown over time and the similarities between now and then.

Below is our first ever annual report from 1987. The foreword from our founder Father Michael Conaty reads:

“In 1986 the St Anthony of Padua Community Association became a charitable company limited by guarantee. This took account of the growth in scale and complexity of the Association’s commitments during its four year history. The character of its work – service needs otherwise unmet of the people of Walker and other parts of Newcastle – remain unaltered.”

Celebrating 40 years of St Anthony's!

Tomorrow will be 40 years since St Anthony of Padua Community Association was registered as a company by our founder Father Michael Conaty MBE.

We have many exciting things planned to celebrate throughout the month!

A big thank you to our staff, service users, Trustees past and present and everyone else who has been connected with St Anthony's over the past 40 years and your role in keeping St Anthony's going. Father Conaty would be very proud.

On Tuesday 2nd June, we’ll be launching a series of six “Elders in the Woods” sessions in partnership with Wildside. Please see the attached poster for full details.

These sessions will be a wonderful opportunity to connect with others, enjoy nature, and take part in outdoor activities, and arts and crafts. The project is designed to help reduce social isolation, support emotional wellbeing, and provide meaningful sensory engagement in a relaxed outdoor setting.

Spaces are limited, so booking is essential. To reserve a place, please contact Katherine using the details on the poster, or call Rosie, our Community Gardens Coordinator, on 07867 494 164.

To finish off our Dementia Awareness Week celebrations, Assisi House threw a fantastic party with Elvis! Our service users thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment and had a wonderful time💙
