We're looking for 25 amazing people to take on the Inflatable 5K Newcastle for LD:NorthEast on Saturday 22nd August 2026 at Gosforth Park Racecourse!

Our Wellbeing craft group had a wonderful time getting creative this week, making beautiful hot air balloon pictures using the quilling technique.

Using colourful strips of paper, patience and imagination, everyone created their own unique design.

Are you passionate about supporting people and making a real difference?

Weโ€™re looking for a Therapeutic Activity Worker to join our team at LD:NorthEast, delivering digital sessions, walking groups, and wellbeing-focused opportunities for adults with learning disabilities and autism.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a supportive team while helping people build confidence, develop skills, and live well in their community ๐Ÿ’œ

โœ… 12โ€“16 hours per week
โœ… ยฃ13.08 per hour (ยฃ25,166 pro rata)
โœ… Fixed term until March 2027

What a fantastic month we've had throughout May, with lots of exciting activities, achievements, and opportunities for everyone to enjoy!

๐ŸŽจ The children in our Early Connections group have had a wonderful time taking part in messy play activities and exploring new textures through sensory experiences.

๐Ÿ•บ๐Ÿ’ƒ There was plenty of fun, laughter, and dancing at our Summer Disco, which was enjoyed by everyone who attended.

๐Ÿ’ก๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ Our Art Group has been making great use of our new light box equipment, developing their skills through detailed and complicated tracing activities.

๐ŸŽฏ๐Ÿ’ฐ Our recent Darts Fundraising Event raised an amazing ยฃ230 for ourselves and Macmillan Cancer Support A huge thank you to everyone who supported the event and helped make it such a success.

๐Ÿค๐ŸŒŸ We are delighted to have received funding from the Port of Tyne Fund at Community Foundation North East to deliver a new self-advocacy project. We will be working with local group Speaking Up Together - Self Advocacy Beyond Boundaries to set up a new group here.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support our work and take part in our activities. We can't wait to see what June brings!

This Volunteers Week weโ€™re proud to shine a special spotlight on two incredible individuals who received awards at our Volunteer Celebration ๐Ÿ‘

๐ŸŒŸ Eileen โ€“ Volunteer of the Year
๐ŸŒŸ Izzy โ€“ Special Recognition Award

Both Eileen and Izzy have been volunteering with us for over two years, consistently showing kindness, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting others.

Eileen joined us after retiring and has become a valued part of our Knit and Natter group, bringing warmth, encouragement to everyone involved ๐Ÿงถ

Izzy began volunteering while at university, supporting our art sessions with creativity and care. Since last year, she has moved into a paid role with us, yet still chooses to give her time as a volunteer, a reflection of her dedication and commitment ๐Ÿ™Œ

We are incredibly grateful to both of you. Your impact is felt every day, and our service is better because of you ๐Ÿ’ซ
