As promised some more pictures for our Harvest Celebration last weekend. If you missed it, we have more great events coming up you can come and join.

The whole of August is celebrated in many cultures for a time of harvest, gratitude & celebration. A time to clear clutter, clean house and preparing the garden for the darker months.

For us it is a time to look at what supports us and what does not. What are we reaping from the harvest?
What needs to be let go of? and what needs to be put away for over winter.

As the nights start to draw in, celebrate this height if summer and prepare for the cooler, darker months ahead.

Our Equinox gathering will be Sunday 20th September, we will also be welcoming a special guest to come and share some juggling and other circus skills with us (as requested at a previous gathering).

Blessings of the first harvest to you.
This time of year is celebrated across the world in many cultures, who give thanks to the earth, in temples and churches and in communities. It is a time to give thanks for the harvest.

Not just the fabulous bounty of food from the earth,
Each kindness is a harvest.
Each relationship
Each time we grow through hardship
Each sacrifice we make for the betterment of others
The seeds we planted in spring may be fruitful now, or they be quietly taking root beneath the soil.
I encourage you to take a moment to pause long enough to recognise your own growth and what you have sacrificed for the betterment of others.

We gathered yesterday to celebrate the season, with feasting, community and gratitude.

Thank you to all who came and added your special spark to the fire, it is a joy to see this community grow and connect.

Thank you to The Auckland Shanty Singers for delighting us with songs of sailors and comunity and thank you to our amazing crew that truly reflect the power of coming together to reap the harvest for the abundance and wellbeing of the community.

We are thrilled to be welcoming this motley crew aboard for our Seasonal Celebration days!
They will be making their first guest appearance at our Summer Harvest gathering on the 1st August in Durham

We are really excited to be putting together some very special Seasonal Celebration Days over the rest of this year, thanks to your feedback and suggestions, see the dates and how to book below.

We had some great feedback and suggestions from our Summer Solstice event last month and in response to this we will be bringing stargazing later in the year, circus skills/juggling and we are looking into how to make fire side Karaoke work off grid, we will have live entertainment and some nature connected movement/dancing in our future gatherings too!

Our next event is on Saturday 1st August - 1pm - 6pm

This late summer gathering is celebrated with a gathering in of the harvest, as we celebrate the warm rays of the sun and all it has supported to grow over the first half of the year.
Not just what has been growing in the hedgerow, farm and garden but also what has grown within ourselves and our communities. As the days continue to shorten and we prepare for the coming Autumn we will come together to celebrate, feast and give thanks.
As always there will be food, folklore and fun!

We ask that you book well in advance so we can ensure we have enough food and craft materials for everyone.
(Booking will only be possible until 6pm on Thursday 30h July)
