Hand in Hand Newcastle Through our clubs, in Wallsend and Heaton, we seek to provide support to the socially isolated elderly and those at risk of social isolation.

Through friendship and compassion we seek to provide support to elderly people, especially those who are socially isolated, to help prevent feelings of loneliness and isolation. Our vision is to see the elderly treated with care, dignity and respect, helping them to actively engage in their community and no longer be subject to loneliness and isolation. We could not do any of this without the support of volunteers. Hand in Hand is a Project of the Methodist Church (Newcastle Central & East Circuit)

We've had a busy few months here at Hand in Hand.

Time for an update.

We have said goodbye to Diane Whitfield after 10 years as the coordinator of the Wallsend club. Thank you Diane for all your work, support and kindness-we miss you and wish you well.

We have also said goodbye to Barbara Davies and the Heaton Group. The good news is that they are still going strong but are now part of St Georges church in High Heaton where they have been meeting for the last few years. We wish them all well and thank you too to Barbara for your work on our committee.

We have also said hello and welcomed Dawn Wilkinson as our new club coordinator in Wallsend, as well as some new volunteers joining the hand in Hand team.
