Copied from our brothers of Central Chapter-
So this weekend was a busy one for Central Chapter. We had a visit from Brothers spanning all Chapters of Patriots MC UK.
The craic was great, the b**r was flowing and there was enough lasagne to sink a poorly maintained naval ship!!! A big thankyou to our Brothers who made the effort to join us on this special weekend. π
But we, as a Chapter, also made a visit ourselves - which was of significant importance to us.
We had been made aware of local lady, called Nicolette Williams, who had made significant efforts to support the armed forces and veterans within the local area.
It didnβt take us long to find out that Nicolette had lost her son Christopher Bridge, whilst he served with the RAF Regiment on OP HERRICK - Afghanistan.
Despite the trauma of losing her son, Nicolette proceeded to spend nearly two decades both campaigning for a local War Memorial, to include the fallen from modern day conflicts AND subsequently raising thousands of pounds for Help For Heroes Charity.
We knew Nicolette would be at Christopherβs graveside on Saturday. Christopher is laid to rest in Shire Green Cemetery Sheffield, not far from the War Memorial his mother campaigned for. As a Chapter we made our way there and met Nicolette and her Mother. We stood by Christopherβs grave and listened to Nicolette tell her story - it was truly humbling. As we stood in silence Nicolette played the last post from her phone.
Meeting Nicolette was an absolute honour. We are all too aware that we donβt get a choice of the cards we are dealt in life - itβs about what you do with them β¦.. Thank You Nicolette for all you have done.
