Recently, 22 members of the North Tyneside Mental Health Alliance attended an excellent Understanding Autism workshop delivered by Autism In Mind.

The session received fantastic feedback, with attendees describing it as “really informative” and packed with useful, practical takeaways, while others shared that they had “learnt so much” from the experience.

The Mental Health Alliance continues to offer a comprehensive, fully funded training programme for its members, with upcoming sessions including Understanding ARFID and Neurodiversity and Eating Distress.

Anyone interested in finding out more about upcoming training opportunities can get in touch with [email protected].

Happy 1st birthday to Shine!

We’re proud to be part of Shine and to stand alongside organisations across the North East who are committed to creating fair, supportive and inclusive workplaces.

For us at VODA, being a Shine member reflects our commitment to supporting our team’s wellbeing, championing good work and being part of a values-led network that is working together to strengthen opportunities for people and communities across our region.

Congratulations to everyone involved in Shine’s first year. It’s fantastic to see the difference this growing network is making. We’re excited to see what comes next.

Volunteers are being invited to play a part in one of the region’s most exciting summer events 🐰

Peter Rabbit: Tales on the Tyne Art Trail 2026 will bring over 40 beautifully designed sculptures to Newcastle and North Tyneside from 15 July to 14 September, raising funds for St Oswald's Hospice 💙

There are a range of ways to get involved. Trail HQ volunteers will be based at the Space in Ouseburn, welcoming visitors, helping families use the app and sharing information about the trail. Community Events volunteers will be out and about across Newcastle and North Tyneside, engaging with the public and supporting activities and fundraising. For those who prefer something creative, Arts and Crafts volunteers will work behind the scenes, making keepsakes and preparing materials.

No experience is needed, and full training is provided. It is a great opportunity to meet new people, build confidence and be part of something special this summer.
