I'm sure there are a few sore bodies back in Newcastle this morning after a gruelling round of fixtures yesterday in the IKO EAFL. We were unfortunate to come away without any points but it was always going to be a tough day out with a depleted squad.

We lost the first game 2-0 to a much improved Chelsea. Newcastle started with a change of formation to try and accommodate for the missing players and struggled to settle into the game. The 2nd half was a much better display but we didn't have the cutting edge to make the most of our chances.

In the second game we put in a very organised performance against an on-form Everton and we were unlucky to come away with a 1-0 loss. It was a resolute performance and very promising to see what we're capable of.

Unfortunately the Everton game took it out of us and it showed as we went into our final game carrying a few injuries. Pompey took full advantage beating us 8-1. It was clear from the start that Pompey were determined not to have a repeat of the scare we gave them last month. They piled players forward from the get go and Newcastle were down by a goal in the first minute. Neil Hoey, who looked dangerous all day, provided the consolation goal for Newcastle but the game was lost at that stage.

Newcastle Amputees are still waiting to get their season going but with a few regular starters returning from injury next month we're hopeful that results will start going our way. We're back in action again on the 22nd of March with the cup competition ⚫βšͺ
