Mildred, another rabbit adding to the statistic.. 100,000 rabbits are dumped or abandoned in the UK every single year.

Dumped and left to fend for herself.

I had to completely shave Mildred, due to the severe matting all over her body. Underneath the mats, I found fly eggs trapped in her fur and stuck to her skin.

Within a matter of hours, those eggs would have hatched and began eating away at her. Hours away from a fatal situation.

Domestic rabbits CANNOT survive in the wild. She didn’t get lost. She was abandoned.

You’ll say Mildred was one of the lucky ones. But she should never have had to rely on luck.

Rabbits should be given water bowls instead of bottles whenever possible because bowls allow them to drink in a more natural and comfortable way. Rabbits naturally lap water, and bowls let them take in larger amounts more easily, helping them stay properly hydrated. Water bottles can be difficult for rabbits to use, especially if the nozzle becomes blocked or leaks, and they often provide water much more slowly.
