Cornwall Women of Colour Collective has been cooking up a fabulous end-of-year celebration filled with culture, connection, music, laughter and sisterhood! 🥂💃🏽

As we celebrate the incredible women, cultures and stories that make our community special, get ready for an unforgettable evening of glamour, a red-carpet experience, guest performances, raffle prizes and beautiful memories together✨

📚☕ CWCC OCTOBER NEW MUMS & BABIES: STORY TIME & COFFEE MEET-UP

Sometimes, the simplest moments create the most meaningful connections.

In October, our CWCC mummies and little ones enjoyed a lovely morning at Truro Library, taking part in story time, songs and activities before heading to Truro Lounge for coffee, conversation and quality time together.

Beyond the stories and coffee, this meet-up offered our new mums an opportunity to connect with other women navigating motherhood, share experiences and build friendships in a welcoming space.

💬 One of our lovely new mums shared:
“Thank you, CWCC, for creating this special space for us new mums of Colour. As women of colour, we love it! I can see how our babies are starting to bond and build friendships with other children who look like them.”

This is exactly why Cornwall Women of Colour Collective (CWCC) exists, to create spaces where women feel seen, supported and connected, and where our children can thrive in a community that celebrates them.

We believe no mother should have to navigate motherhood on their own. We are creating opportunities for women and families to feel welcomed, represented and supported within their community.

🌿 CWCC WOMEN’S CONNECTION HUB | WALK • TALK • TEA ☕️💕

Today our Women’s Connection Hub had a special visit to Clowance Estate, and what a beautiful experience it was🌳✨

We all needed to step away from the usual routine, breathe in some fresh air, take a gentle walk and spend time together.

It was refreshing, calm and full of sisterhood, walking, talking, sharing, laughing and enjoying the beauty around us❤️

There was something so special about having that space to connect with one another, create memories and simply be.

And as we continue to celebrate Black History Month, moments like these remind us of the importance of creating spaces where women of colour can connect, feel seen, share our stories and celebrate community🖤❤️💛💚

✨ OUR COMMUNITY IS BUZZING! ✨

Today, our WhatsApp community, where so much of our daily connection, encouragement and sisterhood happens has been buzzing with GOOD NEWS💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾🥹💛

This week alone, we have received THREE GRANT AWARDS🎉🎉🎉

And honestly… we are overwhelmed with joy and gratitude💃🏾❤️♥️💃🏾

In just 5 months since our official launch, look at how far we have come! From an idea, to a community, to programmes, events, friendships, partnerships and now funding that will help us do even more.

But this progress is not just about CWCC.

It is about YOU🫶🏾

Every woman who joined our WhatsApp community.
Every person who shared our posts.
Every volunteer who gave their time.
Every woman who turned up to an event.
Every person who encouraged us, prayed for us, donated, partnered with us or simply said, “Keep going!”

You have all played a part in this journey🙌❤️

These three awards have brought so much joy and hope to our community, and they remind us of what can happen when women come together, connect, support one another and believe in what is possible.

So today, we celebrate US🥂✨

🌸 September CWCC New Mums & Baby Group 💕

Our September New Mums & Baby Group meet-up was truly heartwarming! 🥰

We enjoyed a lovely picnic at Boscawen Park, Truro, alongside a clothes & toy swap sharing not just items, but support, laughter and community🧸👗💕

One of the sweetest moments was watching the babies recognise each other. 🥹❤️ As soon as they saw familiar little faces, they knew each other, played together and enjoyed each other’s company. Our babies are growing and so is our community! 🌱

We were also delighted to welcome some newborns into the group this month. 👶🏾✨

And there was another little win to celebrate, our New Mums Meal Rota has been a success! ❤️

We started the rota as a simple way for our community to come together and support new mums during those early weeks and months when a little extra help can mean so much. From sharing a meal to simply knowing that someone is thinking of you, it’s one of the ways we’re putting community care into action🥘💕

The conversations at our meet-up went beyond motherhood too. The women shared experiences and questions around issues that particularly affect women of colour — from childcare and maternity leave to returning to work and navigating family life.

One mum asked about free childcare options for her two-year-old, while another shared questions around maternity leave and returning to work. These are the conversations that matter, the questions we sometimes don’t know who to ask, and the experiences that become easier when we realise we’re not alone.
