WHEN COMMUNITY CALLS, WE SHOW UP🤎

Last week, our Founder was invited to St Austell to speak about the importance of community and the power of connection during the Naming Ceremony of newborn twins of a member in our CWCC New Mums & Baby Group👶🏾👶🏾

Speaking from her own experience, she shared how we all need each other and how one small act of community support can become the beginning of something much bigger.

She reflected on how a single seed of support she once received became part of the journey that eventually led to the creation of CWCC🌱

It was also a beautiful opportunity to meet some of the wonderful women in our community in St Austell. We shared stories, laughter, connection and such a lovely sense of belonging.

Our Founder was particularly touched by the support shown by the White River community. The way they have welcomed and supported our sister is a beautiful example of true community showing up for one another, creating space for one another and reminding each other that we don’t have to walk alone.

At CWCC, we believe community isn’t simply about bringing people together. It is about building relationships, showing up when needed, creating connection and supporting one another to thrive.

You never know what your small act of support might grow into🌱❤️

Our New Mums had a lovely time at their monthly hangout last week at Cocoa Truro 💕👶🏽☕️

We also recently ran a survey with our New Mums community to better understand what mums need, and a few things came through really strongly:

🌍 Culturally aware and inclusive spaces where mums feel understood and represented.

🤍 Support for the mum, not just the baby because mum’s wellbeing matters too.

🤝 Connection and community, creating opportunities for mums to meet, share experiences and know they are not alone.

These conversations are helping us shape our New Mums & Baby Group around what mums actually want and need.

We’re so excited to continue creating a warm, supportive space where every mum can feel seen, heard and connected. 🌸

🚤 The Power of Collaboration💛

Last Saturday, some of us at CWCC had the pleasure of joining our sister organisation, Calabash Bridge, for their Annual Boat Cruise.

This year, they went BIG, two full boat cruises, one for families and another for adults! 🎉

We were also blessed with tickets to support some women in our community who simply needed an opportunity to get out, relax and enjoy themselves. ❤️

This is the power of collaboration. There’s no need for bickering or competition when we can come together, support one another and create opportunities for our communities to thrive.

We thoroughly enjoyed being part of this beautiful event and supporting the amazing work of Calabash Bridge.

A huge thank you to Chris and Sandra for all the work you continue to do🥂💃🏽

Together, we are stronger. Together, we can do more❤️

🔥 WHAT A DAY! WHAT A CELEBRATION🔥

We know you’ve all been waiting for the updates… and where do we even begin? 😍

Saturday’s Celebration of Culture was a festival… or shall we just call it a full-blown carnival of culture, colour, food, music and community! 💃🏾🌍🎶🔥

Our CWCC community came out in numbers and what a vibe! 🙌🏾 From start to finish, we were connecting, dancing, eating, laughing, networking and celebrating together. Absolutely no dull moments! ❤️

A massive thank you to Black Voices Cornwall CIO for organising such a beautifully community-centred and culturally rich event. Everything was on point the atmosphere, organisation, entertainment, food and sense of togetherness.
