We were honoured to be the first of this year’s Sands Starlight Walks at Marazion and St. Michael’s Mount at the start of Baby Loss Awareness Week. The Mount was lit up specially to mark BLAW. Thank you to everyone who joined us: adults, children….and dog. The skies eventually cleared and we did walk under the stars!

Just as everyone had left and we were about to clear the candle heart, a man appeared on the slipway behind us. He asked what was going on and I told him about BLAW and Sands.. He said that he and his wife had also lost a baby. So we gave him a candle to add to the heart and gave him some space. He stood quietly for a few minutes and then helped us put the candles away. Join us tomorrow evening, Friday 9th October for our ***Starlight Walk*** at Marazion and St. Michael's Mount to mark the start of Baby Loss Awareness Week (BLAW).
Meet at Marazion Station Car Park (Jordans) at 6.45-7pm. The 0.8 mile walk to the Mount starts at 7.15pm. There will be candles, poems, a reflective silence and the Mount will be lit up in pink and blue for BLAW. Details here: www.cornwall-sands.org.uk/news-and-events

"Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in our hearts"

Cornwall Sands together with Sands United FC (Cornwall) invite you to be part of our Starlight Walk on Friday 9th October at Marazion and St. Michael's Mount.

The Starlight Walk is a special time to come together and walk in memory of the much-loved and missed babies who have left us too soon.

Across the UK, families and supporters will walk under the night sky, united in love and remembrance. Together, we will walk through the darkness and find the light, keeping the love for our babies alive in our hearts. On the darkest nights, the stars shine brightest.
