Old Truronians

Old Truronians The official page for Old Truronians of Truro School, Cornwall. Esse Quam Videri. For more information, please visit our events page.

The Old Truronian network was officially established in August 1895, when it was known originally as the Old Boys’ Association. Times have changed and for many years now alumni have been made up of amazing ladies and gentlemen who form our Old Truronians and share the mutual bond that is Truro School. Steeped in 140 years of history, Truro School is Cornwall’s leading independent school for girls

and boys aged 3-18. The School is situated over two campuses, the Senior School set within 40 acres of sports fields and open spaces overlooking Truro and its iconic Cathedral, and a vibrant Prep School. We hope to help former pupils keep in contact as well as providing networking opportunities and enjoyable reunions. Join your friends and former teachers at the ever popular and memorable Annual Reunion Dinner every autumn. The Development team also produces the Truronian - the official Old Truronian magazine, sent digitally at the end of each school term containing a round-up of the terms events, OT features, Archive Attic, plus much more. Keep in touch at truroschool.com/oldtruronians/keep-in-touch. For any other queries please e-mail [email protected] or telephone 01872 246010.

It was wonderful to be visited by Old Truronian Charles May CO83 in early June, alongside his wife and son. Charles told us that after leaving Truro School as a boarder in 1981, his family emigrated from St Ives to Florida, USA. Charles then enrolled at a US High School for two years before attending university. Later, he joined the US Army, which took him on assignments all around the world.

Charles’s brother, Mike May CO81, is also an Old Truronian. He is a freelance golf writer based in Wellington, Florida.

We are pleased to reveal a first look inside the new Music Centre. The project has been shaped around Truro School’s long-standing belief in the transformative power of music and the importance of widening access to creative opportunities for young people across Cornwall.

As work continues towards completion, Truro School thanks supporters, partners and the wider community for their enthusiasm and encouragement throughout the project journey.

The School is continuing to welcome support for the Music Centre as it prepares to open its doors. Contributions of all sizes will help enhance opportunities for young musicians and support community access to music and the arts across Cornwall.
