Betjeman Buddies - helping to grow new friendships

We are trialling a new initiative called Betjeman Buddies to help people make new friends. Working with Age UK Cornwall & The Isles of Scilly
Are you looking for a new buddy to go to the theatre, out for dinner, coastal walks or to the cinema with? We are asking anyone who is interested to fill out a simple questionnaire so we can try and match compatible people with common interests. We will then select 10 people who will be invited to a private event at The John Betjeman Centre. The first event will be for the over 60s only and if it is successful we will be holding regular events for all ages. If more than 10 people apply, others will go on a waiting list for a future event. This September is World Alzheimer's Month

Stand with the millions of people impacted by dementia during World Alzheimer's Month. There are plenty of ways you can get involved, join us now by donating to fund vital research, volunteering your time, or campaigning to improve experiences.

We are delighted to share Diane's story, who was supported by the Community Gateway.

Diane's journey highlights the significant impact that personal conversations, community and one-on-one support can have on an individual.

For the first time in a long while, Diane felt truly listened to, which not only boosted her confidence but also empowered Diane to take meaningful steps toward positive change. Consequently, Diane experienced notable improvements in her home life, as well as in her health and mental wellbeing.
