“What if my ADHD isn’t real?”

For a young person who has spent years trying to understand why some things feel harder than they seem to for everyone else, hearing that question on television or seeing it across social media can be incredibly difficult.

Channel 4’s The Great ADHD Myth? has sparked a lot of conversation about ADHD, diagnosis, medication and whether ADHD is a neurodevelopmental condition.

Those conversations matter.

But so does the impact they can have on the young people living through them.

🩷 They shouldn’t feel like they’re making things up.
🩷 They shouldn’t feel lazy or broken.
🩷 They shouldn’t feel that they have to defend their diagnosis.
🩷 And they shouldn’t have to navigate confusing or negative media coverage alone.

Our latest blog looks at how parents and carers can help young people understand and navigate the recent coverage around ADHD, including what you can actually say when your child asks:

“Is ADHD actually real?”

We look at media literacy, waiting for an assessment, medication, neurodiversity and, most importantly, how we can make sure our young people feel heard, understood and supported.

What a beautiful place to host a fundraiser! Today was a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness for the MND Association and The Roxi Foundation, highlighting the vital support available to others.

Fundraising takes many different forms, and we are incredibly grateful to Adrian Sherry for inviting us to co-host at the picturesque Warwickshire Golf and Country Club.
