Parc y Werin: have your say
We’re planning improvements at Parc y Werin and we want your views. We’ve been working with the Friends of Parc y Werin and the bowls club on plans for the pavilion and the community garden. We now have the chance to add a new path as part of that work.
The early concept drawing is attached. Here’s what it shows.
A new path around the west, south and east sides of the playing field. It links to the existing path by the play area, so you get a full loop of the park.
The path is 2 metres wide. That’s enough for buggies, wheelchairs and two people walking side by side and will allow for watching football in the poorer weather.
The surface is porous, so rainwater soaks through instead of pooling.
The wild grass areas along Princess Street and the southern edge stay. They support pollinators and wildlife, and the path runs through them without replacing them.
