Met up in TriBeCa with Arron from Riverside Support Sunderland today, himself and his partner want to make a difference to peoples lives here in Sunderland, people who feel that
Our City Bridges are there only option. 3 incidents I believe in 24 hours, so RSS are recruiting volunteers to patrol and be on standby on our city bridges.

We discussed a few structure possibilities, Arron was heading to meet our new council leader this afternoon, to discuss their idea.

We’ve been campaigning for a free push button phone since 2022, fallen on deaf ears sadly, so hoping RSS can get their idea into gear and try to help people who are taking potentially tragic steps in life.

Arron advised he’s linked with George from Andy’s Man Club (we love George - been supporting us from day one).

We spoke about notice boards with emergency numbers, volunteer requirements, potential pods and more x

It’s the first step in the right direction and we have offered our community hub for interviews or meetings x more than happy to help x

Any information we receive will keep you updated, if you feel you would give your time to volunteer on patrol, drop their Facebook site a message x

Hoping people start to action requirements on our city bridges going forward and well done Riverside Support Services for seeing the need and acting on it x

Absolutely fabulous night on Davy tonight x

We started at Park Lane, where the lovely people at Park Lane Cafe made bacon and sausage sandwiches for our guests on site, tons of lovely conversations and vital support to local people.

Two new volunteers onboard tonight, Chris and Eren, joining myself, Lorraine, Colin Go north East, Judith and Derek - serving up lovely hot drinks, snacks, biscuits brought along to share by our guest Adam.

Then I picked up a pizzas and we headed to Mowbray Park where another group turn up, more rough sleepers come to Mowbray and get food, hot and cold drinks, tonight they asked for hats and gloves along with blankets.

Singing, dancing, lovely chats and absolutely amazing teamwork as always x

Our work is now focused on evening work where resources are not so available after 5pm , so our service really well attended and some of the guests travel north of the water and Tyneside, so not all local.

Few young people at Park Lane throwing bottles and food our way, but quickly nipped in bud with some sweet treats and a polite conversation with them, explaining what we do, then the young people were way more respectful and very nice x

Lots of happy people by the time we left, we know how important we are to attendees, prouder than proud of our amazing teams x

Our support is currently Tuesdays and Saturdays - 7pm to 7.50pm at Park Lane and 8pm to 9pm on Toward Road, outside Mowbray Park entrance.

Lovely, lovely night. X###

Love Andrea and Our Fab Davy Team x

The Big Announcement
🚀 Ready to step into the future? AI Training is coming to Sunderland!

We are beyond thrilled to announce a groundbreaking partnership! Starting soon, Sunderland Community Soup Kitchen is teaming up with the tech experts at Bydaybreak Solutions and Kerckhoffs to bring dedicated, jargon-free AI training right to our community.

Whether you are a local SME looking to streamline operations or an individual wanting to upskill, we have a package for you.

Best of all? It’s all hosted right here in our beautiful Tribeca training room. ✨

Don't get left behind in the AI revolution. It will be so important in the future and I personally use AI to speed up my work process, create posters and more following on from the one day course I attended at TriBeCa. A lovely homely relaxed atmosphere with refreshments available throughout the day. A lovely way to learn and this supports our charity on our journey to self sustain.
