Welcome to our page. We are a local charity dedicated to providing emergency food and support to individuals and families in crisis.

Our mission is to combat hunger and work towards our long term vision of ending the need for foodbanks. The Stroud District Foodbank opened in December 2011 to provide support for individuals and families in food crisis anywhere in the Stroud District. We do this by providing short term, emergency food supplies during a crisis while a long-term support strategy is developed. We work in conjunction

with care professionals such as health visitors, social workers, CAB and other support organisations who identify people in crisis and send them to our food distribution centres. Volunteers meet clients over a cup of tea or free hot meal and are able to signpost people to further agencies able to manage the longer-term problem and give them food.

If you’re out shopping this weekend and are in a position to help, we are currently running low on essential food items and would be incredibly grateful for your donations.

Donated items are lovingly complemented with fresh fruit, vegetables, eggs, and bread ensuring families receive both nourishment and care in every parcel.

🚨 Rice Pudding SOS! 🚨

This weekend we're asking for just one thing: rice pudding.

Our shelves are looking a little bare, and we'd love to build our stocks back up. If you're shopping this weekend, please consider picking up an extra tin and donating it to the foodbank.

A huge thank you to the Stroud Club for the Visually Impaired for inviting us to their monthly meeting last week to share more about our work.

We were delighted to meet such a warm, engaged group and were inspired by the thoughtful questions and discussion. It gave us plenty to reflect on, too!

A special thank you for your incredibly generous donation of £103, which will help us continue supporting local people facing hardship.

We love opportunities to connect with our community and share the difference that can be made when we work together. If your group, club or organisation would like to arrange a talk or a visit to our warehouse, we'd love to hear from you.

Shopping in Waitrose this week? As a reminder, we’ve been selected as one of the three charities in the Waitrose Community Matters scheme 💚

Every time you shop at Waitrose, please pick up a green token and consider placing it in our box to support our work helping those in hardship.

At the end of June, the charities receive £1,500, £1,000 or £500 depending on how many tokens they’ve collected, so every single token really does count.

It all adds up. Last year alone, we spent over £80,000 on food to help support people across our community. With your help, we can continue to be there for those who need us most.

If you’re shopping in-store, please look out for the green tokens and consider our charity 💚

If you're heading out to the shops, we have a small but heartfelt request. Could you pop one of our five most wanted items in your basket for us, please?

Right now, we're running low on tinned fruit, corned beef, cooking oil, mayo and laundry detergent. For the people we support, receiving these items in their parcel can mean more than words can say. A small moment of normality in what is often an incredibly difficult time.

Every single donation matters. Every parcel we pack makes a real difference to an individual or family in our community.

We are absolutely delighted to share that Le Chat Noir in Stroud are launching their wonderful new Galettes For Good initiative in support of Stroud District Foodbank.

From now on, £1 from every galette purchased from their lunch menu will be donated to help support local people facing hardship across our district.

We’re incredibly grateful to the team at Le Chat Noir for choosing to give back in such a community-minded way.

So if you fancy delicious French food, crepes, drinks and a little bonhomie, now’s the perfect excuse to pay them a visit knowing your lunch is helping local people too 🇫🇷✨

A big Tuesday shout out to our talented volunteer, Justin, who has been hard at work on the Trussell Together Garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 🌿🌸

The Together Garden, created by Rob Hardy has been awarded a 🥇 GOLD Medal!

The garden celebrates the people and communities who come together to support those facing hardship, and reflects a shared hope for a future where foodbanks are no longer needed.

We’re also deeply thankful for our own community, whose generosity, time, and support make everything we do possible. It’s that collective spirit that keeps this work going and makes change feel possible.

We’re incredibly proud of Justin and everyone involved in such a meaningful and inspiring project. 💚

A big Saturday shout out to Sean, our Tesco Stroud Community Champion for spending the day with us on Thursday. We’re so grateful for not just his practical help but also his interest in our work and sharing his own experiences.

Thank you to Stroud Tesco also for their generosity in providing apples for our parcels and their ongoing support of our work.
