AcousticCafeNights@theGranary are delighted to announce that THE MAIRS FAMILY BAND will be playing at the Granary on the 19th June, with David Mairs making a special guest appearance.

MFB are : Alan, guitar, mandolin, fiddle, Louise, dobro, Hazel, upright bass, Darren, guitar, mandolin and recent member, Calum McKinley, banjo. Hazel and Darren are former members of The Daddy Naggins. Their friendly and lively approach in their live shows has made them favourites on the festival and club circuit. Exciting News!
Michelle McManus and the Flaming Blackhearts are playing Strathaven Town Mill Theatre on the 16th May 2026. We had a chance to chat with Michelle about the Gig and why she has always accepted our invitation to play?

“Every time Steve, Tim and myself play a gig there we enjoy it so much because we get such a great reception from the Strathaven audience. “

We asked Michelle if she had noticed any change in the Mill since she first played there?

“Having played there three times in the last 4 years we have seen the improvements that are being made to the Theatre and I don’t think enough people know that the Theatre is run by volunteers as a charity. We are happy to give it our support by playing our music and we know the money the charity raises by running the Theatre maintains and improves this 17th Century building”

We believe you and the Blackhearts are playing the HebCelt festival on the Isle of Lewis this year?

“You know whether it’s 20,000 in the audience or just 100 as in the Mill it is always great to have the opportunity to sing with two of Scotland’s best guitarists in Tim and Steve.

We look forward to seeing you in May Michelle.

“We are looking forward to the Gig and doing some new material we have been working on”

"Working Men's Club" is a hilarious stand-up comedy show about the jobs that shape us - and the pressure that comes with them. Saturday 9th May

Low Flying Pigeon presents:

Scott Gibson "Working Men's Club"

Drawing on his own working life, Scott takes audiences through years spent bouncing in nightclubs, working in bookies, call centres, dead-end shifts, and eventually finding his way into stand-up comedy. The show explores what work gives men beyond money: structure, pride, identity - and what happens when that starts to disappear.

Alongside personal stories, "Working Men's Club" tackles modern working culture, the myth of "loving what you do," the silent dignity of graft, and the growing impact of AI on jobs that once felt secure.

Funny, honest, and unpolished in the best way, this is a show for anyone who's ever clocked in, kept their head down,
