We Love Carers We Love Carers is run by carers for carers. We do all this by focusing on three key areas, information, support and advice.

Providing support, advice and information to unpaid Carers throughout Dudley

Kings Award for Voluntary Service Winners 2024, Dudley Community Award Winners, Mayor of Dudley Community Award Winners, Public Speakers, Campaigners for Unpaid Carers There are many organisations that offer support, information and advice to Carers, but the vast majority are predominantly there for the person with the disability, certainly they focus on specific areas. We Love Carers exists to reduce carer isolation, ensuring they have access to the support they need, enabling them to fulfil their caring role and achieve their full potential. We Love Carers focuses on the Carer, filling in gaps and working hard to empower them so they can lead the happiest, most rewarding and fulfilling lives whilst reaching their full potential. This will help them to be effective carers for the people they love and look after and be involved in decisions and making choices that affect their lives. Many carers are isolated and don’t know where to turn for help. We Love Carers aims to change that for Carers in the Dudley borough.

We know it can be confusing and overwhelming when looking for mental health support. With that in mind, just in case people are unsure of what we offer or how we fit into the support that is currently available:

We are a mental health education service taking a proactive approach to actually educating children what feelings are and how to manage them.

We are the first step, in the same way teachers are the first step in helping children to read and write. If a child continues to struggle with these, more specialist intervention will be undertaken. This should be the same for mental health.

So, Reflexions, CAMHS and Elsa support come after our programme as reactive responses to an identified further need.

Furthermore. There is a wealth of other services offering much needed escape and distraction through nature base activities and creative sessions. These will provide children with a break from their struggles but will not help them to understand their mental health.

We hope this makes things clearer.
