📢BBQ Update – Tuesday 18th August

Unfortunately, this Tuesday’s BBQ has been cancelled and will be rearranged for another date later this year.

In light of the events over the past few days involving local fires, and the recent announcements advising against open-flame activities, the charity’s trustees have made the decision to cancel the BBQ as a precaution.

We appreciate your understanding and continued support.

If you have already placed an order for the BBQ, we will hold your order for the new date. However, if you would prefer a refund before the new date is confirmed, please email or message us, or speak to a member of the team at the reception desk on Tuesday.

The club will still be open on Tuesday (tomorrow) as usual, so please feel free to come along and enjoy the club as normal.

Is everyone looking forward to Bowling Night?🎳

Make sure to warm up and get ready as we want to see lots of strikes!!🏆 It will be a night of friendly competition at club where we can all enjoy the disco afterwards too.

Reminder that Bowling is set up at the church hall, normal entry fee applies (no extra charges) and there will be some of the other usual tables set out if you would rather do something different.

📢Call for volunteers!

If you’re based in or near Stourbridge (DY8) and can spare a few hours on a Tuesday evening, we would love to hear from you!

Here’s a message from the Charities Chairperson on what it means to be a volunteer for Happy Hours Club:

“Hi everyone, I’m Tom, and I’m
the current chairperson at Happy Hours Club.

I’ve been a helper at Happy Hours now for 16 years and have enjoyed every second. I love how we work together to create a safe, fun and enjoyable space for all our members where everyone can enjoy a couple of hours of socialising together.

Since club was founded in 2008 we have tried to embed an ethos of “fun” into Happy Hours. I have loved mixing our club nights with special themed events. My personal favourite being Team Games, which is always a good night!

I have personally learnt a lot from volunteering at club too. It has helped my personal confidence grow, and enhanced my people skills.

I joined club in 2010 as a volunteer without any training or experience and have loved being involved ever since. No prior experience is required, other than a passion for having fun! We have a range of positions at club for volunteers, from administration, on our tuck shop and raffle and helping to run themed nights, including spinning the records as a DJ!

If you’re interested in being involved, please let us know and we can arrange for you to join us one Tuesday night to experience club in action.

I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank all of our past and present amazing volunteers who work to deliver our ethos of “fun” every Tuesday night for all clubs members!
