PLUS This also gives parents and carers some time for themselves.

PLUS works across the Forth Valley to give children and young people with disabilities the support they need to get out and have fun with people of their own age. PLUS supports children between the ages of 0-35 through a variety of projects;
Play and Chat (Parent and pre schooler group)
Playplus (5-11 year olds - running in Falkirk and Stirling)
PLUS Youth (12-17 year olds - running in Falkirk and Stirling)
Adults @ PLUS (18-35 year olds)
Count Me In (5-17 year olds - inclusion in mainstream clubs and groups)
1:1 Support (5-17 year olds - offering families flexibility in planning breaks)
ASP (support for young people who identify with 'aspergers')
Family PLUS (support for families by families)

A number of us will be updating the page, and will note our initials at the end of comments so you know who we are. :-)

Sometimes the best days are made up of simple moments.

Through our 1-to-1 project, young people can enjoy personalised support to explore their communities, take part in activities they enjoy, and build confidence at their own pace.

Whether it's a swing in the park, an ice cream stop, or a chance to explore and play, these experiences help create positive memories and meaningful connections. 💙

Our project was made possible thanks to players

This week, PLUS had the pleasure of delivering Understanding and Supporting Distressed Behaviour training to staff from Active Stirling.

The session explored the reasons behind distressed and dysregulated behaviour, the impact of trauma and life experiences, and practical ways to respond with empathy, understanding and compassion. Participants engaged in discussion and activities designed to build confidence in supporting individuals in a trauma-informed way.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the session. We always value the opportunity to share knowledge and work collaboratively to create safer, more supportive environments for those accessing services.
Here are some photos from the day!

🎶🪇 Who needs dance moves when you can get your whole body involved?!

This young man certainly brought the energy to our Stirling PlayPLUS music session. Hands in the air, feet in the air and a maraca moving so fast the camera could barely keep up! 😂💙

🥁 Making music at our Falkirk session! 🎶

Who needs a drum kit when you’ve got drumsticks, a little imagination and a very versatile flower barrel! 😄

At PLUS, it’s all about finding fun ways for our young people to explore, create and enjoy the things they love. 💙

🌟 Team PLUS is taking on the Supernova Forth Road Bridge 5K! 🌟

This November, Team PLUS will be walking, jogging, running and rolling across the Forth Road Bridge as part of the Supernova 5K! 💜

We wanted to try something a little different this year and, importantly, choose an event that allows people to take part in a way that works for them. We’re delighted to have a fantastic group of PLUS families, staff and supporters joining us. 🏃‍♀️🚶‍♂️♿✨

Now we’d love your support!

💜 If you would like to sponsor Team PLUS, you can donate through our GoodHub fundraising page here:

Every donation, big or small, will help support the work of PLUS and will give our team an extra boost as they make their way across the bridge!

Please feel free to share our fundraising page too. Let’s see how much Team PLUS can raise together! 💜🌟

Thank you to everyone who attended our Transition Support Information Evening last month at Bailliefields Community Hub, and to all the organisations who joined us to share information, advice and support.

Thank you to ARC Scotland, ILF Scotland, Mailers Solicitors , Skills Development Scotland, Contact - For families with disabled children, Wee Country Respite Care, Forth Valley College, D2 The Creative Centre, Forth Valley Sensory Centre, Cosy Wee Tours Ltd Falkirk Falkirk Council, Willow Tree Performing Arts, Self Directed Support Forth Valley - ILA, Stoneywood Care Services

It was wonderful to hear from Rosselyn and her family about their lived experience of transition.

We recognise that the transition to adult services can bring significant change and uncertainty. Our aim is to ensure that young people, parents and carers feel informed, equipped and empowered to make decisions about their future with confidence.

Thank you to Falkirk Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund and Self-Management Fund for making this event possible.

If you missed this event, don’t worry – our next Transitions Event is on Thursday 8th October at Wallace High School, 6.30pm to 9.00pm. Please contact [email protected] for more information!

There are so many ways to explore, learn and achieve through play, and School’s Out has had plenty of them! 💙

From experimenting with colourful ice painting 🎨🧊 and enjoying Simpsons colouring, to going for a walk, catching bubbles and discovering what happens when paper meets the air from a fan, there were lots of opportunities for curiosity and sensory exploration.

And sometimes the biggest moments can look quite small. 🛝

With some support from staff, one young person managed a turn on the slide and was so proud of himself afterwards. He then made his own choice to spend some time lying in the sand, exploring how it felt between his fingers while chatting away with Maya about music. 🎵

Choice, achievement, connection and lots of fun. That’s what School’s Out is all about! 🥰
