πŸ’™ Could you help make our St Neots support group a welcoming place to be?

Sometimes, a friendly face, a warm welcome and someone taking the time to include you can make all the difference.

We're looking for a St Neots Support Group Volunteer to help us create that friendly, relaxed atmosphere at our group at The Eatons Centre.

You'll be there to welcome people as they arrive, help new members feel comfortable, organise refreshments and make sure everyone feels included. From time to time, you might also help with a simple raffle, quiz or game, and share news about what's happening across HCCN.

πŸ’™ You don't need previous experience. We're looking for someone who enjoys meeting people, is kind and reliable, and has a knack for noticing when someone might appreciate a friendly conversation or a little encouragement to join in.

The Mazda is coming to Nice! πŸ‡«πŸ‡·πŸš—

Ben and the team have got the keys, but there's still a little bit of work to do before it's ready to tackle more than 1,500 miles through Calais, Dijon, Turin and Monaco in support of HCCN.

And they're not taking it to the garage...

πŸ”§ The team are going to fix it up themselves!

πŸ’™ Sometimes, moving a little can help you feel a little more like yourself.

Cancer-related fatigue can make even everyday activities feel like hard work. While rest is important, gentle and regular physical activity can also help many people manage fatigue and gradually rebuild strength and confidence.

That's where our Get Active programme comes in.

Our prehab and rehab exercise classes, delivered in partnership with HDC Active Lifestyles at One Leisure, offer a friendly and supportive way to get moving at your own pace. You don't need to be particularly fit or have exercised before, just come as you are and we'll support you from there. πŸ’™

πŸ“ Our One Leisure classes take place in Huntingdon, St Ives, St Neots and Ramsey, with days and times shown in the graphic.

And Get Active doesn't stop there. We offer a wider range of activities across HCCN too, giving you different ways to move, build confidence and support your wellbeing.

πŸ’™ Are you supporting or caring for someone affected by cancer? πŸ’™

Our friends at East of England Cancer Alliance are looking to hear from unpaid carers across the region to better understand their experiences.

Many people don't think of themselves as a "carer". They simply support a partner, family member or friend through cancer, often putting their own needs to one side.

By taking a few minutes to complete this anonymous survey, you'll be helping to build a clearer picture of what caring is really like, what's working well, where support is needed and how services can be improved for carers in the future.

πŸ“ The survey takes around 10 minutes to complete and is open until the end of October 2026.

If this applies to you, or you know someone who may be interested, please consider taking part or sharing this post.

πŸ’™ Complete the survey here:
https://eoecanceralliance.nhs.uk/cancer-carers-survey/

πŸ’™ Supporting someone can be rewarding, but it can also be challenging. If you're supporting a loved one and feel you could benefit from some support yourself, we'd love to hear from you. Find out more about HCCN's groups, activities and services by visiting: https://www.hccnthecharity.org/ouroffer

Thank you to East of England Cancer Alliance for helping to ensure unpaid carers are recognised, listened to and better supported. πŸ’™
