Caring Matters Now is the UK charity supporting those affected by Congenital Melanocytic Naevi (CMN) – a genetic condition, consisting of a dark brown hairy birthmark covering up to 80% of the body. Our vision:
We have a vision of a world where no one suffers from CMN. Caring Matters Now focuses its work in three areas:
We support those affected by CMN
We fund pioneering research to find a cure for CMN
We raise national and international awareness of CMN

By connecting with professionals from across the field, Helen will be flying the flag for everyone affected by CMN and helping to ensure our community's voice continues to be heard.

Big things are happening behind the scenes as we continue to develop our Adult Support Pathway.

From introducing our new Adult Connect events to preparing the launch of our Adult Guide coming soon, we’re creating more opportunities for adults in our community to connect, access support and feel understood.

None of this would be possible without the invaluable insight, experiences and feedback shared by our adult members every step of the way. Thank you for helping us shape support that truly reflects the needs of our community.

The Big Weekend 2026 – what a weekend! 💙

One week on, and we’re still on a high!
From creepy crawlies and bowling, to pool parties, dancing and our CMN Awards, there was something for everyone.
We were honoured to host the CMN research team for an interactive research experiment, and members had plenty of opportunities to catch up with old friends and make new ones. Sunday brought the latest research updates from Professor Veronica Kinsler at the Francis Crick Institute, and children enjoyed a cinema trip.

But the real highlight? Being together, sharing our stories and feeling truly understood. 💙 🩷

Through Adult Connect, we will share knowledge, welcome guest speakers, learn from one another’s experiences, highlight available support resources, and provide opportunities to get involved in wider charity events and campaigns.
