“I would like to do an art session.” 👩‍🎨

We’ve listened and we agree!

To support children’s creativity and emotional wellbeing, we’re planning to introduce more calming, enjoyable art sessions.

These activities give children space to express themselves, explore new ideas, and enjoy peaceful moments together.

We did / We will:
• Create more opportunities for creative expression.
• Offer regular art sessions with a calm, nurturing atmosphere.
• Support children’s confidence and wellbeing through hands on creativity.

More creative fun is on the way! 🌟

What a fantastic day at Somersham School! 😊

Christine Luckham, dreamdrops Chairman had the pleasure of presenting some SEND equipment to help support the amazing children there.

Vicky Gardner, the school's dedicated SEND Coordinator, was absolutely delighted to receive the equipment on behalf of the students.

At dreamdrops, we're passionate about helping local children access the resources they need to thrive, and it's always wonderful to see the difference these donations can make.

A huge thank you to everyone who supports dreamdrops, together we're helping create brighter opportunities for children across our community.💙

What a fantastic weekend of clay and creativity at this year's dreamdrops Clay Day!

Members of the Collins Club spent two enjoyable days getting stuck in with clay, learning new skills, and creating an amazing variety of pieces.

With support and encouragement from dreamdrops volunteers Phillipa Winser, Pauline Rawlings, and Liz Erskine, participants of all abilities were able to explore their creativity and put their own unique stamp on their creations.

Kindly hosted by Richard and Kate Cranwell, the event was filled with laughter, imagination, and plenty of fun throughout the weekend.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, donated their time and talents, and helped make the event such a success.

We're already looking forward to next year's Clay Day!

We’ve taken this suggestion on board and are exploring ways to offer more physical and sensory activities for our children.

This includes looking into possible visits to venues such as trampoline parks.

Any future plans will be fully risk assessed to ensure they are safe, inclusive, SEND friendly, and supported by appropriate staffing.

Our priority is always to create enjoyable experiences while keeping every child’s wellbeing at the centre.

👉 More updates to come as we continue developing exciting, active opportunities for our children.

Check out this fantastic feedback from one of the schools taking part in our music therapy sessions! 🎵✨

We are delighted to hear about the positive impact these sessions are having on young people. Music therapy provides a safe, creative space for students to express themselves, build confidence, develop communication skills, and support their emotional wellbeing.

Feedback like this highlights the real difference that music can make.

A huge thank you to the school staff, students, and our dedicated music therapist for making these sessions such a success.

Hear what they had to say below! 👇🎶

“Thank you for supporting the school with the music club!
Rachel is amazing and the pupils LOVE IT!”

✨ Big Dreams, Big Music! ✨

We have some extremely exciting news from our children’s weekly music sessions 🎶

What started as a big dream in late 2024 after our wonderful committee member Wendy Baker was inspired by a performance at the Royal Albert Hall this has grown into something truly magical. 💛

Our children have been building confidence, finding their voices, and shining brighter every week. Watching them sing, smile, and support each other has been incredible.

And now… the exciting part!

🌟 We’ve been accepted into The Music Man Project! 🌟

This amazing international charity opens music and performance opportunities for people with learning disabilities and it means our children could now perform at bigger venues - maybe even the Royal Albert Hall one day! 🎤

With the support of The Music Man Project and our brilliant music tutor, Nicola New, this journey is only just beginning.

We are so proud of every single one of our children 💫

⭐What inspires someone to volunteer? ⭐

Today, Shirley shares her personal volunteering journey, reflecting on the experiences and rewards along the way.

“I have been volunteering for over 20 years and find it so worthwhile both for the folk I help and myself.

“I fundraised for Dreamdrops for many years when I worked for the NHS and my husband passed away from kidney cancer 10 years ago. I then began to raise funds for Kidney Cancer UK, raising over £15,000.

“After 10 years I felt it was time to come back to Dreamdrops a charity close to my heart.

“I volunteer and help whenever I can and I also volunteer in the Corn Exchange, St Ives helping in any way I can.

“I have made so many friends who need someone just to listen to them. The feeling you have and the smile you get back is so worthwhile to be a volunteer.🥰

“I would recommend volunteering to anyone who is thinking about choosing to volunteer, you will get back as much as you give.”

Hi, I’m Liz Erskine 👋

I work part-time as a Teaching Assistant in a Secondary School and earlier this year I became a volunteer with Dreamdrops.

What first drew me to Dreamdrops was their amazing support for SEND children and their families. Through my work, I know how important charities like this are offering practical help, emotional support, and a chance for parents to connect so they never feel alone.

In January, I proudly picked up my Dreamdrops lanyard and T-shirt and joined the team!

If you’ve ever thought about volunteering, do it. You really can make a difference.💙

At Dreamdrops, our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do.

Behind every smile, every special event, every comforting moment, and every child who feels supported, there is a volunteer making a difference.
