Join us on Saturday 12th September for Heritage Open Day when John Conkey (British Basket Makers Association) will be giving a demonstration of traditional basket making on Holt Island. In the meantime, the hop (Humulus lupulus) is very much in evidence!

Thank you to everyone who supported Family Fun Day last week, and especially to our volunteers who made it possible. We even had a fox cub join us, who did not want to miss out on the excitement 😀 I thought someone had left behind a pair of gloves but it turned out to be a black squirrel cooling itself down 🤣

A hot, hard morning's work getting Holt Island ready for Family Fun Day on Tuesday, 11th August. Volunteers were working on the boardwalk, clearing nettles and opening up paths. With Pippin the Peregrine keeping an eye on us. Thank you!

Fascinating news about our Peregrine Falcon: it's a male, born in 2025 at Aylesbury Town Hall! Our super-skilled cameraman, Nigel, successfully photographed the bird's ring. He has returned at least twice to the spire of All Saints – maybe looking for a territory? Meanwhile, on Holt Island, the orange balsam is adding some 'pops' of colour. Busy week. Peregrine Falcon spotted on All Saints spire. Willow tree down, blocking grass path = big job for our volunteers, should be cleared by the weekend. Record turnout at our annual meeting, thank you to everyone who supported us 😀.
