We are seeking a Senior Organ Scholar for the next academic year - this is an exciting opportunity for a young organist to gain valuable experience in a welcoming musical community with a cathedral-style repertoire.

Celebrating St Alphege today.

Our choirs are singing anthems and settings which add poignancy to St. Alphege's martyrdom and his contribution to our nation's faith. At the 11am Choral Eucharist our anthem, Ernest Bullock's 'Give us the wings of faith', emphasises the importance of Christ's victory: 'We ask them whence their victory came: They, with one united breath, Ascribe the conquest to the Lamb, Their triumph to his death'. Then in Festal Evensong at 5pm, in Stanford's epic anthem 'For lo I raise up', we sing of the result of the life and witness of such saints: 'For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea'.

This Sunday is the Patronal Festival of St Alphege. There will be services across the parish at the usual times, with a Choral Eucharist at St Alphege at 11am, which will be live-streamed and a Festal Evensong at 5pm.

We're looking forward to singing Choral Evensong at Coventry Cathedral this Saturday. The music will be Rose Responses, Psalm 66, Evening Service in D by Brewer and Te Deum from Howells 'Collegium Regale' Service. All are welcome to attend the service at 4pm.
