📢 APPEAL TO PHARMACIES, DOCTORS, MEDICAL PRACTITIONERS & KIND-HEARTED HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS 🙏

Balay is helping coordinate urgent in-kind medical support for a residential care home caring for 20 individuals living with mental health conditions, some of whom also require medication for seizure-related conditions.

The facility is currently facing a difficult period and urgently needs assistance to ensure continuity of care over the next 2–4 weeks.

As many healthcare professionals understand, interruption of maintenance medication can significantly affect stability, wellbeing, and safety. We are hoping to help prevent disruption in treatment during this critical period.

We are respectfully appealing for assistance through:

✔️ Support through pharmacies or medical networks
✔️ Referrals to individuals or organizations that may be able to assist
✔️ Professional guidance on accessible treatment options, where appropriate

🙏 URGENT COMMUNITY APPEAL 🙏

BALAY is humbly reaching out for urgent in-kind support for a residential care home caring for 20 individuals living with mental health conditions.

The home is currently facing a difficult period and urgently needs assistance with food and essential maintenance medication over the next 2–4 weeks, while longer-term support is being arranged.

A poultry livelihood project previously helped sustain food supply, alongside small vegetable plots. Unfortunately, recent setbacks have significantly affected their ability to provide for daily needs.

We are appealing for in-kind donations, such as:

🍚 Rice
🥫 Canned goods
☕ Coffee / milk
🥬 Vegetables and groceries
💊 Maintenance medication for mental health conditions (medication list to follow)

To respect the privacy and dignity of the residents, details of the home will be shared privately with those who sincerely wish to help.

For years, this place existed only as a dream — a home where children in difficult situations could one day find safety, care, and the chance to begin again.

Through many challenges and much perseverance, that dream has slowly taken shape.

We are truly overwhelmed and grateful for the heartfelt response to our call for support for sanitary and hygiene kits for the children of Virlanie FAITH.

The photos shared here were taken during a Life Skills session at the Open Day Center of Virlanie FAITH, where children are nurtured, guided, and empowered in a safe environment. To protect their privacy, faces have been intentionally blurred.

Today marked an important step for Balay as we met with the founder of Virlanie Foundation, an organization that has been caring for disadvantaged children in Metro Manila for more than 30 years and the parent organization of Virlanie F.A.I.T.H.

What was meant to be a practical discussion became a meaningful conversation about purpose and service. We found that Balay and Virlanie are guided by the same reason for doing this work for vulnerable children — the belief that caring for the least among us is a responsibility rooted in dignity, compassion, and faith. We also shared the understanding that whatever has been achieved through the years is not ours alone, but the result of being instruments in a work greater than ourselves.

The meeting affirmed a shared alignment of values and direction. In a time marked by conflict, injustice, and the continued suffering of the vulnerable, this alignment strengthens our resolve to quietly and faithfully do our part — preparing spaces of safety, care, and belonging for children and youth in need.

We move forward with gratitude, humility, and purpose.
