An absolutely fabulous afternoon today for our Family Fun Day and AGM.

We welcomed young people from all of our sections, along with their family to enjoy a variety of activities, including a climbing wall, cave bus, and circus skills!

Thank you to all of our Leaders and volunteers who ran additional activities, and kept everyone supplied with food and drink on our BBQ.

Thanks also to everyone who supported the AGM.

Big thanks for coming along to visit our Scout Group and answering all the young people’s questions.

Really great to have you with us and give them the chance to find out more about their local community! ⚜️

It was great to see the Squirrels today and support them as they work towards their badge.

The building is a fantastic community space and a huge step forward from when I was a Scout many years ago, meeting behind the Greig Hall.

I look forward to continuing to support the Alcester Guide And Scout Centre and their ambitions. It was a pleasure to recently support their planning application for a new open-sided wooden gazebo - an exciting project for them.

Thank you for being an awesome part of !

A big thank you to Alcester & District Community First Responders for visiting our Squirrel Scouts! 🚑🐿️

The children had a fantastic time learning about the ambulance service, exploring some of the equipment carried by the CFRs, and discovering how they help our local community in emergencies. It was a fun and fascinating session, and we really appreciate you taking the time to inspire our young people.

Thank you for such a brilliant visit! ❤️

We had a great time at Get In!

08/05/2026

This time last week, we were arriving at Get In - Warwickshire Scouts Festival of Scouting at Ragley Hall! 🏕️✨

What an incredible weekend it was for everyone from 1st Alcester Scout Group.

133 young people joined thousands of Scouts from across Warwickshire for a weekend full of adventure, new experiences, friendship, and unforgettable memories. It was amazing to see so many of our Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts getting involved, challenging themselves, building confidence, and having such a fantastic time.

Weekends like this don’t happen without an incredible team behind the scenes. Over 20 leaders and more than 50 other adults volunteered their time throughout the weekend to support 1st Alcester — from preparing meals, transporting equipment, and pitching tents, to supporting activities and helping ensure our young people had the best experience possible.

A huge thank you to everyone who played a part in making the weekend happen — leaders, volunteers, organisers, parents, and supporters. Your time, energy, and dedication made it all possible. 💚

We’re already looking forward to the next adventure!
