🌸🚜 AN INCREDIBLE DAY AT BLOOMING GREEN! 🚜🌸

We had the most wonderful time taking our pupils to visit Blooming Green, and we cannot thank the brilliant co-founders and cousins, Jen and Bek, enough for being such inspiring hosts!

While all of our students got to explore the beautiful plots, our older pupils stepped up to run a fantastic 'Meet the Farmer Q&A' session. They interviewed Jen and Bek directly, gaining a real, valuable insight into what it actually takes to start up a rural business, and hearing firsthand about their real-life experiences running a successful, sustainable flower farm.

This visit holds an extra special place in our curriculum because it perfectly ties into our learning for ! This national celebration spotlights the immense value of seasonal, homegrown blooms and the incredible people who cultivate them. For our pupils, stepping off the school farm and onto a dedicated commercial flower plot brought everything we've been studying about local agriculture and sustainability to life.

Even more inspiringly, British Flowers Week 2026 coincides with the United Nations' International Year of the Woman Farmer. Getting to learn directly from two pioneering, entrepreneurial women like Jen and Bek gave our young people an invaluable real-world look at female leadership within the modern UK horticulture and agricultural sectors.

The hands-on learning didn't stop there! 🌿✨

💐 Masterclass: Under the "Flowers for the Future" campaign theme, all of our students explored the plots and gathered their very own bouquets to take home. They experienced exactly what it’s like to manage a floristry business—learning to choose stems based on color, size, and what is naturally, sustainably in season.

🎨 Creative Botanists: Each young person chose a single flower from the plot and used its stem, leaves, and petals to deconstruct and design their own completely unique flower. Safe to say, we have some very exotic-looking new species coming out of Curly’s Farm now!

We are so proud to keep building these vital links with local farming and businesses. Days like today truly support the learning, personal growth, and future career opportunities for our young people.

🐑 DO YOU HAVE A MINI-FARMER IN THE MAKING? 🚜

Looking for the perfect way to keep the kids entertained this May Half Term? Why not let them swap their tablets for a pitchfork and become a ‘Farmer for the Day’ at Curly’s Farm! 🐣

We are opening our gates every Tuesday and Thursday during the May Half Term holiday for young people to get stuck into farm life.

What’s involved?

✅ Hands-on animal care and feeding 🐷
✅ Learning all about our amazing livestock 🐄
✅ Making new friends and getting plenty of fresh air! ☀️

It’s the ultimate outdoor experience for children who love animals and aren't afraid of a little bit of mud!

For children 6-11years, dress for the weather, dress for the farm, being a packed lunch and water bottle.

⚠️ PLEASE NOTE: To ensure everyone has the best experience, we are using an online booking system only. We are unable to accept "turn ups" on the day, so please book your slot via the link below to avoid disappointment!

Today we used the new Curly’s Farm & School 🚜🏫 to go to Leeds Castle 🏰, and what a fabulously rainy 🌧️ and historic day it was.

From entering the big wooden door to the castle 🚪, we entered the hugely high-ceilinged lounges, dining room 🍽️, and library… so many books, floor to ceiling 📚.

We went down twisting and turning corridors of the 900-year-old castle to the moat with swans, geese, and ducks 🦢🦆.

Then we all jumped on Elise the land train 🚂 back to the minibus 🚌

Get up close and personal with all of our incredible baby animals. Here is just a sneak peek of who is waiting to meet you:
The Lambs: Watch them skip, hop, and play in the fields (warning: high cuteness levels guaranteed!).
The Calves: Come and see our gorgeous, big-eyed baby cows as they find their feet.
And So Many More: From fluffy ducklings to playful goslings, the barn is full of fresh faces.
