Last week, as part of Carers Week 2026, we had the opportunity to attend a range of professional events, including a 'Lunch & Learn' at Evolution Business Centre in Northallerton 💜

Service Development Manager, Kerrie Hesp, delivered an engaging presentation on unpaid caring, including a facts and figures quiz that helped highlight the realities faced by carers. It was a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness and help local professionals better understand the challenges unpaid carers face.

🎶 What an incredible afternoon! 🎶

A huge thank you to Musical Director Bill Scott and Scarborough Community Choir for a fantastic afternoon of music, entertainment and sing along favourites in support of Carers Plus Yorkshire 💜

Together we enjoyed 150 cups of tea, 120 pieces of cake and countless happy moments. We’re also delighted to share that the raffle raised an amazing £420 which will be split between CPY and SCC.

A huge thankyou to all the wonderful helpers and volunteers on the day! ⭐️

From 15–19 June, Safeguarding Week brings together organisations and professionals from across North Yorkshire, York, East Riding and Hull to raise awareness, share learning and promote good safeguarding practice.

Last week, Carers Week in Bridlington started with the very first Caring with Confidence session, with Zoe Smith, a life coach from Your Vitality ⭐

Zoe held the session in a very calming and relaxed manner and helped carers understand the importance of self-care during their caring role. She recognises that as an unpaid carer, day to day life is tough, she also taught carers about boundaries and how by putting them in place, can help to cope better 🍃

Carers practiced breathing techniques which helps to calm the nervous system and reduce stress levels. The session gave carers useful tips and tools which they can now implement within their caring journey and beyond. The session received positive feedback and we are looking forward to welcoming Zoe back again in July for a session on Caring, Life & Resilience 💜
