Den Building in Raincliffe Woods 🪵🐺🌳

Tonight our 2nd E.L.O Cubs headed to Raincliffe Woods to enjoy the great outdoors and put their den building skills to the test! 🌿

Working together in teams, the Cubs used logs, sticks, twigs, leaves and even wild garlic to create some fantastic dens and bivvies. 🪵🍂🍁

There was some brilliant teamwork, communication and leadership on display throughout the evening, and the finished dens looked excellent.

A huge well done to all the Cubs for their hard work and enthusiasm. It was a fantastic evening of outdoor adventure and fun! 👏⚜️

Fruit & Veg Tasting Night! 🥕🍎

Tonight our 2nd E.L.O Squirrels worked towards their Super Chef Badge by learning all about different fruits and vegetables. 👨‍🍳⚜️

We discovered where different fruits and vegetables come from and then put our taste buds to the test! 😋

The Squirrels tried mango, kiwi, sugar snap peas, mushrooms, lemons and cherries 🍋🥝🍒🥭

Even the leaders joined in with the lemon tasting challenge, which resulted in some very funny faces! 😆🍋

A fun evening of learning, tasting and trying new things. Well done Squirrels! 👏🐿️⚜️

Sponsored walk in aid of new tents. All the children gave it a great go and enjoyed a lovely walk with our wonderful Scouting family.

Scouts HAVE got talent!

Tonight 2nd ELO Scouts held a fantastic talent evening. We learnt the semaphore alphabet with our home made and personalised flags (a new talent for everyone!) and then we had a fantastic talent show!
With everything from instruments, magic tricks, singing and dancing to a fantastic hat balancing act we were treated to such a wonderful evening.
It's scary to stand up in front of your friends and perform but in true ELO style our Scouts clapped, cheered and supported each other all the way. We're so proud of each and every one of them!

Tonight we were supposed to be on the beach completing the best chip survey, but the weather put a dampener on our plans, so we did our own survey of our favourite crisps and also tried to guess the cookie and rate them out of 10, the beavers enjoyed it very much, we also handed out some joining in awards for one and two years and sporting badge that they have earned. Well done beavers 🎉

Jay’s Cycle Coaching ⚜️🚴‍♀️

Last night our 2nd E.L.O Cubs enjoyed a fantastic cycling session with Jay’s Cycle Coaching. 🚴‍♂️👏

The Cubs learned:
🪖 How to fit their helmets correctly
🚲 How to check their bikes are safe to ride
🔧 The different parts of a bike
🚴 How to mount and dismount safely
🚧 Road safety and much more!

After learning the basics, it was time to hop on the bikes and put those new skills into practice around the cycle course. 🚵‍♀️

All of the Cubs did amazingly. Even when things got a little challenging, they kept going, listened well and always tried their best. 💪🌟

A huge well done to all the Cubs! 👏⚜️

A special thank you to Jay for delivering such a brilliant session. The Cubs learned so much, gained confidence on their bikes and had a fantastic time throughout. 🚴‍♂️
And thank you to the parents and leaders who came along to help and support the session. ⚜️❤️

Croft’s Chocolate Shop Visit! 🐺🍫

Tonight our 2nd E.L.O Cubs enjoyed a fantastic visit to Croft’s Chocolate Shop, where they learned all about how chocolate is made and even created their own delicious chocolate lollies! 🍭🍫

Alex from Croft’s, along with his son Frankie (one of our incredible Cubs! 🌟), taught us about cocoa beans, chocolate making and tempering chocolate.
The Cubs also used all five senses to explore milk and dark chocolate before getting creative with their own chocolate lolly creations and toppings. 😋✨

A very special thank you to Alex and his fantastic helper Frankie for welcoming us this evening. Alex was incredibly enthusiastic, knowledgeable and brilliant with the Cubs, making the whole experience fun, interactive and memorable. ❤️

If you’re looking for something different, Croft’s also runs birthday parties and holiday workshops, which we’d definitely recommend checking out.

One of the most magical moments of our Disneyland Paris adventure. ✨

After an incredible day of rides, laughter and memories, our Scouts and Explorers gathered in front of the castle to watch the spectacular nighttime show. ❤️

Beaver Science Experiments ! 🧪🦫

Last night our 2nd E.L.O Beavers worked towards their Experiment Badge with an evening full of exciting science! 🔬✨

The Beavers created erupting volcanoes 🌋, made colourful rainbows using Skittles 🌈🍬, and even caused a few explosions along the way! 💥😄

Everyone had great fun getting stuck into the experiments, learning how different reactions work and discovering just how exciting science can be.

A brilliant night of learning, experimenting and fun. Well done Beavers! 👏⚜️
