Join Adnan from Syria with the National Literacy Trust on the Yorkshire Coast at Mrs Lofthouse's Emporium on Tuesday 17 June, 3.40pm-5pm, for a special story time to mark Refugee Week.

Settle down as we share a story together and discover the experiences of those who must leave their homes. We’ll be exploring the Moomins’ journey across the sea in Moomin: The Treasure and thinking about how simple acts of kindness can help us support those who are new in our community.

You will then have the chance to ask Adnan about his lived experience as a former asylum seeker; What it is like for asylum seekers and refugees arriving in England? What simple acts can we do to be kind to refugees in our community and what do these simple acts mean to those who are new to our town?

Messy Builders

You may heard us talking about this over the month, well here it is. Messy Builders on the 1st Thursday of every month, 5th June / 3rd July.

Messy Builders will take over the main hall and crèche area at The Summit, there is will craft / messy play stations around the room which you can work around with your little one and see what they think of different textures, colours and smells. The session will be one hour and we will finish every session by coming together for singing.

Look forward to seeing you all there Thursday 5th June 10:30am.
