Big things are taking shape in Sandbach 👀

We’re developing a brand new cadet hut that will bring together the Army Cadet Force and RAF Air Cadets in a modern, purpose built training space designed to support the next generation.

This is a real investment in young people, giving them the space, facilities and environment they deserve to grow in confidence, skills and opportunity.

We’re proud to be delivering projects like this across the North West and look forward to sharing more as it progresses.

🎮 NORTH WEST TRI-SERVICE CADET ESPORTS COMPETITION 2026 👾

Greater Manchester Wing is pleased to confirm participation in the North West Tri-Service Cadet Esports Competition taking place on:

🗓️ Saturday 27 June 2026
📍 University of Central Lancashire, Preston

This exciting regional event, delivered in partnership with the North West RFCA and University of Lancashire, will bring together cadets from across the North West for a day of competitive and interactive esports activities.

Activities planned include:

🚀Rocket League
🎾VR Tennis
🏎️Trackmania
🏰Fortnite
🏐HADO

Alongside gameplay, cadets will also have opportunities to spectate, take part in problem-solving activities and engage with wider technology and esports experiences throughout the day.

This activity is open to cadets with an interest in gaming, esports and technology, including those who may not traditionally engage with some of our other activity areas.

I was delighted to hear, while at the Sandbach Transport Festival, that 1873 (Sandbach) Air Training Corps will have their base rebuilt in part through new MOD/Government funding, as part of the ‘30 by 30’ initiative.

Backed by £70 million nationally, the programme aims to increase cadet numbers by 30% by 2030. I’m really pleased to see this kind of investment coming into our local area and our youth groups.
