Well after two years of planning, and 13 amazing days away - we’re officially heading back home from Kandersteg International Scout Centre

What an enormous privilege it’s been to spend this time with 38 amazing Alsager Scouts. 🤩Everyone has been pushed outside their comfort zone, tried something new, met friends from other countries, and created memories to last a lifetime. 🧗🥾🚣

It’s so tricky to capture a trip like this in photographs, but we have tried!! Here’s some of the highlights! 📸

Finally a HUGE thank you to everyone that’s supported us in our fundraising efforts, to the parents for entrusting us with this responsibility, the volunteer leader team for organising and taking the 2 weeks off work away from family, and most of all- to our brilliant participants for throwing themselves at every opportunity that came their way.

Over the last four days, our two Gold DofE groups have completed their 90km assessed expeditions. 🎉

Their expedition took them from Llangollen to Prestatyn beach, following the spectacular Offa's D**e Path through some beautiful countryside. 🥾

We are incredibly proud of all 12 Explorers for this fantastic achievement, especially in these sunny and windy conditions. It has been amazing to watch how much they have grown in confidence, resilience and teamwork.

They supported one another every step of the way, both out on the trail and back at the campsite, and really embodied the spirit of DofE.

As their leaders, it has been an absolute pleasure to be part of their journey. Watching them grow in confidence, encourage one another and overcome the challenges together made every mile worthwhile, and we couldn't be prouder of every one of them.

We are incredibly sad and sorry to share that 6th Alsager Brownies will be closing this summer. Despite our best efforts, we have not had enough volunteers come forward to take over the unit.

Girlguiding Alsager is thriving, with over 100 girls currently on our waiting lists. We simply cannot afford to lose units when there is such a strong need in our community. We need more volunteers so we can reach more girls and give them the opportunities they deserve.

Our leaders are a fantastic, diverse group, showing girls that no matter who you are, you can achieve amazing things. Being part of this community is truly special.

Congratulations to our scout leader, Ellie-Kay who was invited to The Scouts day of celebration at Windsor Castle, in recognition of her receiving her King’s Scout Award! 👏🏻

The King’s Scout Award (KSA), previously Queen’s Scout Award (QSA), is the highest award a young person can achieve in scouting and signifies a true commitment to our movement and to them themselves.

Ellie-Kay joined scouting later than many, as a volunteer, but this has not stopped her - she has taken every opportunity to get involved, step up and challenge herself, and this award celebrates what can be achieved when you put your mind to something. 🙌

Huge congratulations Ellie-Kay! You join the small but mighty circle of Alsager QSA/KSA holders! 🎖️
