•We offer opportunities for young people to gain experience and develop skills in volunteering.
•Under our participation strategy we offer opportunities for young people to engage and be part of our youth voice forums and youth councils. Targeted Youth Support TYS
•We provide one to one support, advice and guidance for NEET young people aged 16-18yrs through one to one work, group sessions, focused interviews, EHA assessments and referral into learning and training.
•We work with young people with a CEC Education and Health Care Plan to engage them in learning and training post 16 from year 9 onwards.
•We are responsible for the September Guarantee process which identifies learning opportunities and gaps in provision and links closely with businesses, training providers.
•We track the whole cohort of young people to ensure they are meeting participation requirements via Raising of the Participation Age (RPA), including the NEET national figures. This includes the gathering of destination information from all schools and colleges in the area. Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme - DofE

🌟 Our Third Annual SEND Conference Returns Another Success! 🌟

We were proud to host our third annual SEND Conference, bringing together young people, professionals, and partners from across Cheshire East to help shape the future of SEND services.
Organised by the Participation Team in partnership with Jigsaw, our SEND youth group, the event welcomed young people from special schools, settings supporting social, emotional and mental health needs, members of the home education community, and representatives from the SEND and Alternative Provision Partnership Board.

Young people were at the heart of the conference, co-facilitating workshops on:
🗣️ Communication
🏫 Your Dream School
📍 The SEND Local Offer

These sessions provided a valuable platform for children and young people to share their experiences, ideas, and recommendations directly with decision-makers.

Alongside the workshops, attendees took part in team-building activities and arts and crafts sessions, helping to build confidence, strengthen relationships, and create a fun and inclusive environment for everyone involved.

The feedback and recommendations gathered on the day will now be shared with the SEND and Alternative Provision Partnership Board to help inform future service improvements across Cheshire East.

If you know a young person with SEND who would like to have their voice heard, influence positive change, and develop new skills, we'd love to hear from you.

🎣 Reach North Fishing - Sandbach 🎣

Not many bites, but that didn't stop the effort! 💪

Our young person showed a fantastic attitude throughout the session, demonstrating patience, perseverance, and a real willingness to learn. It was a great opportunity to refresh casting and rod set-up skills, build confidence, and enjoy some time outdoors.

Another positive session focused on developing resilience, concentration, problem-solving, and learning through experience.

🌟 REACH Prevent - Session 1! 🌟

We kicked off our REACH Prevent programme with an introductory session packed with fun and teamwork.
The young people got involved in team-building games, baked some delicious cookies 🍪, and worked together to create our group expectations.

Setting group expectations is an important part of youth work as it helps young people feel safe, respected, and included, while giving everyone a shared understanding of how we work together as a group.

The young people did brilliantly, getting stuck into every activity and showing a fantastic attitude throughout. As new members join us throughout the programme, we'll continue to revisit our group expectations to make sure everyone's voice is heard.

A great start to the programme and we're looking forward to the weeks ahead! 👏

👏 First Reach South Climbing session back at Awesome Walls Stockport!

The session provided a great opportunity to build confidence, communication and social skills. Our young person arrived motivated and ready to participate, demonstrated positive communication with staff, and engaged appropriately with members of the public by offering helpful advice and encouragement to fellow climbers.

A positive and productive start back, highlighting the benefits of climbing as a tool for personal growth and community engagement.

Last week our school project came to a close for the year, we'd like to take a moment to recognise and celebrate the incredible young people we have had the privilege of working with throughout the year.

We rounded things off with a go-karting trip for the final four YPs, giving everyone the opportunity to reflect on the year.

Participants were presented with their JAS and ASDAN certificates, along with a personalised report highlighting their individual journey and achievements throughout the project.

We couldn't be prouder of every young person who has taken part. Over the past year, we have seen particular growth in resilience, confidence, and meaningful relationships develop between peers and staff alike.
Each participant has contributed something unique to the project, and it has been a pleasure to witness their progress.

We'd also like to thank Mr Ducker and the wider school team for their ongoing support. Their collaborative approach and commitment to working alongside us has helped create positive opportunities and outcomes for the young people involved.

To all of the students who have been part of this year's project, thank you for your effort, honesty, humour, and determination. We wish you every success in your next steps and look forward to seeing what the future holds for you.

🌊 Kayaking Success! 🚣‍♀️

We had an amazing time out sit-on kayaking with our young people and wow, they absolutely smashed it! 🙌

Everyone showed fantastic determination, supported each other, and stepped out of their comfort zones.

Through the session, they developed so many important skills, including:
✨ Teamwork & communication
✨ Confidence-building
✨ Resilience and perseverance
✨ Water safety awareness
✨ Coordination and paddling technique
✨ Problem-solving and independence

We’re so proud of how well they all did, such a positive, memorable experience for everyone involved even if YW Lauren fell in within the first 5 minutes 🤣! 👏
