Memory Box Our aim is to see the PL12 area become a place that is Dementia Friendly and this promotes living well.

We are a group of people from all different walks of life; some living with Dementia, some carers, all of whom have been affected by this disease in one way or another. Our aim is to see the PL12 area become a place that is Dementia Friendly and this promotes living well with this disease is possible. To do this we need to get people involved by highlighting the needs of those affected and finding ways of helping and supporting them.

We are delighted to announce that our wonderful Lead Volunteer, Pauline Newman, was presented with a well deserved Hidden Heroes award this morning.

To quote from the citation "Pauline is vital to the running of Memory Box and puts in hours of work over and above the basic times of the Singing and Café. Our service users love her and she is always happy to go the extra mile with a well timed phone call or providing a listening ear." we can't think of anyone more deserving of this special award.

It also happens to be her birthday today as well……….Happy Birthday Pauline 🎂

Do join us this Wednesday 2nd September at 10:30 until 12.00 at Wesley Church where we will be singing songs about the weather 🎶 🌦️ ☀️ 🌧️ ❄️ 🎶. It also happens to be World Coconut 🥥 Day! So come along and have a great time singing some great songs. We stop for a tea break and a natter too. We cannot wait to see you all there 🎵 🎶 🎵

This Wednesday 26th August at 10:30am at Wesley Church we will be having a ‘Night at the Proms’ singalong 🎶 🎵. May be dress for the occasion in Red, White and Blue. We are so grateful to Andreas and Penny for raising funds for us via a road race ‘Treasure Hunt’ to celebrate Andreas’s 50th Birthday. Penny’s lovely mother, Jenni, used to come to our activities before she moved into a Care Home in her home county of Yorkshire.

So far £540 has been raised via cash donations and sponsorship which is an amazing amount. We were delighted to welcome Andreas and Penny to our Café this week to pass on the cash donations. We will be posting a thank you to all of the sponsors as soon as we have a full list.
