🌻 Trixie’s September Hello!

“Well, my lovelies — the kettle’s back on and the chairs are out! Trematon WI is ready to welcome everyone after our August pause. I hope you’ve all had a good rest, a few adventures, and maybe even a cheeky cream tea or two.

September means we’re back together — laughter, chatter, and that comforting hum of friendship that fills the hall.

Trixie says: ‘A break is lovely, but coming back is even better — especially when there’s cake involved!’

So dust off your diaries, polish your name badges, and join us for another season of fun, friendship, and WI magic. We’ve missed you!”

Let's Stand Together - WI Day on September 16th 2026
NFWI has invited us all to celebrate 111 years of the WI and is encouraging us to wear our favourite shades of purple and bring lilac, violet into any decorations, crafts, food and drink.

We also invite members to take a photo of any three of you (to represent the 1+1+1 =111) with your names and WI (permissions please), and email to: [email protected]

☀️ Trixie’s August Catch‑Up! ☀️

Well ladies — what a month August has been. Sunshine galore, a bit of long‑awaited rain at the end, and plenty to keep us all busy.

We’ve enjoyed the dazzling British Firework Championships in Plymouth, been out fruit and veg picking — blackberries, rhubarb, runner beans, potatoes and more — the gardens have been bursting with colour and life.

We’ve soaked up the atmosphere at Tunes in the Park, navigated overnight road closures, managed a hosepipe ban, and squeezed in plenty of gardening in between. Some of us have been off on holidays, others enjoying the weather closer to home, and many spending time meeting up with family while the summer days last.

And of course, we had that lovely partial eclipse, giving us a little moment of cosmic magic right here in Cornwall.

Trixie says: “August may be busy, but it’s full of stories worth sharing.” 💐

We welcome the Prime Minister's commitment to offer all rough sleepers housing over Christmas. WI members are calling for action to support homeless women through our new campaign, launching soon.

Vulnerable women are often invisible in official figures because they rarely sleep rough. Many spend nights walking, sofa surfing, or remaining with abusive partners rather than sleeping on the streets. The first step must be to count everyone experiencing homelessness.

We are encouraging WI members to write to their local council and urge them to participate in the Rough Sleeping Women's Census. 🌼 Trixie’s August Check In

Hello my lovelies — just popping up to say I hope you’re all enjoying a little August breathing space. No meetings this month, no lunches, no rushing about with agendas and raffle tickets — just sunshine (hopefully), slow days, and the occasional cuppa in the garden if the wasps allow it.

We’ll be back in September with our usual sparkle, but for now, take a moment to rest those teacups and recharge your laughter batteries.

Trixie says: ‘A break is just as important as a meeting — it’s where the stories begin!’

Enjoy the quiet, gather your tales, and come back ready to share them. Trematon WI might be on pause, but the friendship never takes a holiday.

It's almost the WI Week of River Action!

Between 7 and 13 September, we’ll hold our fourth annual Week of River Action, and it will be the most important yet.
Now is the time to start thinking creatively about your plans! How can you make as much noise as possible, bringing other like-minded people in your community with you, to put pressure on your politicians?
