💚 Carers Group – Saltash Library 💚

Do you look after a family member, friend or loved one?

MHA Communities Cornwall** runs a friendly Carers Group on the 1st and 3rd Monday of every month at **Saltash Library**, from 2pm – 3.30pm.

It’s a relaxed space to:
☕ Meet other carers
💬 Have a chat and share experiences
🤝 Make new connections
🌿 Take a little time for yourself

You’re welcome to bring the person you care for if you wish — we’ll look after them during the session, giving you some time to relax, chat and meet other carers. 💚

Whether you’re a new carer or have been caring for someone for years, you’re very welcome.

We are always on the look out for face to face befrienders and volunteers, support with baking at our coffee mornings or fundraising. We are a small team of 3 in Cornwall, with an amazing team of kind, friendly volunteers. Like most charities we need direct support to keep going. If you would like to support Cornwall Communities ‘dreckly’ give us a call or pop in and see us.

Saltash memory cafe, you continue to shine, 29 attended today (plus 3 wonderful volunteers). Thanks to Tracy, our West Cornwall Community Coordinator coming down to entertain us with James our East Cornwall coordinator joining him on the harmonica!! So much laughter and smiles this afternoon, new friendships made and social connections. From myself, Tracy and James you really remind us why we love what we do. :)

💜 Are you looking after someone? It's important to look after yourself too. 💜

MHA Communities Cornwall is launching a new Carers Group at Saltash Library Hub, starting in August.

This is a welcoming space where carers can take some time out, enjoy a cuppa, chat with others who understand, and build new friendships.

While carers have the chance to relax and connect, the people they care for can also enjoy activities, games and creativity in a friendly and supportive environment.

For just £3 (for both the carer and the cared one), you'll enjoy tea, coffee, biscuits and great company.

1st and 3rd Monday of every month

Thankyou Marilyn (with the yellow bag) for the unexpected 5* google review and the generous donation. In her own words she told us our sessions brighten her day and make all the difference to her. The money will go on Christmas cards and postage for members and will help with Christmas festivities. We are 100% self funded and every penny helps us carry on reducing loneliness and isolation in later life.

It’s with a heavy heart we have to announce the passing of a dear friend, Junita. We hope that we brought her some sunshine after the passing of her husband Johnny. I will miss waving and doing a silly dance in front of your flat window in the mornings as I come into work x
