🌱Another fantastic session for the Allotment Group!🌱
Today we harvested some beautiful onions and fresh lettuces from the allotment – a great reward for all the hard work! πŸ§…πŸ₯¬
We also got creative making tasty wildlife treats using pinecones, butter and seeds. We then went out into the woods and carefully placed them around to provide a snack for the woodland animals and birds. 🐿️🐦
Then back at the allotment, the mud kitchen was a hive of activity, with lots of imaginative mud pies and muddy creations being made! 🍰πŸͺ£
Those who didn’t fancy the mud got crafty making key rings with natural materials showing off their creativity and connection with nature. πŸƒπŸŒΌ
A wonderful evening of gardening, wildlife care, outdoor play and creativity!πŸ’«

In tonight’s Digital Cafe, young people got creative as they began developing ideas for their next podcast episode! They worked together to come up with interesting podcast interview questions, practised their interviewing skills with one another and then recorded their interviews – all ready to be edited and released soon. 🎧✨ Watch this space!

We also had some thoughtful discussions around the upcoming social media ban for under 16s, with young people sharing their opinions, concerns and perspectives on how it could affect them and their peers. It was fantastic to see the group engaging respectfully in such an important conversation. πŸ’πŸ“±

To round off the session, we switched gears and enjoyed a friendly game of Hangman, with plenty of laughs and teamwork along the way! 😊✏️

A brilliant evening full of creativity, confidence-building and meaningful discussion. Well done to everyone who took part – we can’t wait to share the finished podcast episodes with you all! 🎀🌟

This week our Juniors had an amazing time enjoying the sunshine, getting active on the playground equipment, playing parachute games (and almost being taken away in the wind!) and sharing their thoughts on our β€œQuestions of the Week” board. πŸ€”πŸŽ¨β˜€οΈ

The biggest highlight of the evening was welcoming Rachael, our new Senior Youth Worker, to the team! πŸŽ‰ Rachael jumped straight into the fun, getting to know everyone and joining in with the activities. We know she’ll be a wonderful addition to our youth club and we can’t wait for all the exciting opportunities ahead!

It was lovely to see so many young people laughing, making new friends, supporting one another and simply enjoying being together in a safe and positive space. πŸ’™

A huge well done to all of our amazing youth club members and volunteers who worked so hard running the tuck shop stall at Nettlesworth Fun Day on Sunday! πŸ‘πŸ¬πŸ«

From setting up and serving customers to keeping everything stocked and tidy, everyone played their part and represented the youth club brilliantly. We are incredibly proud of the teamwork, enthusiasm and dedication shown throughout the day.

Thank you to everyone who came along to support us and bought treats from our stall – your support means so much and helps us continue providing opportunities and activities for our young people.

Fantastic effort from all involved – you should all be very proud of yourselves! βπŸ’™

πŸ’™ Volunteer Week 2026 πŸ’™

This week we're celebrating and thanking all of our incredible volunteers who help make Sacriston Youth Project what it is.

From the wonderful adults in our Crafters Group who spend countless hours creating beautiful items for fundraising events, helping on stalls and supporting our work behind the scenes, to those who generously give their time to support our Sewing Club, Open Access Youth Clubs sessions and of course, our amazing Trustees – thank you.

We also want to recognise our fantastic young volunteers who step up week after week to support sessions, run tuck shops, help set up and tidy away, and spend time entertaining and encouraging our younger members. Your enthusiasm, kindness and leadership make a huge difference.

Whether you give an hour a week or several hours a month, every contribution matters. Your time, skills, energy and commitment help us provide opportunities, experiences and support for children and young people across our community.

Quite simply, we couldn't do what we do without you.

To every volunteer, young and old – we salute you. πŸ‘πŸ’™
