What an amazing day in Weardale with our youth group! 🌿🏞️

Yesterday was packed with adventure, challenge, and teamwork. The young people really pushed themselves out of their comfort zones as we walked through the stunning countryside, climbed over rocks, scrambled through the gorge, slid down natural water slides, and even jumped into pools beneath waterfalls! 💦🙌

It was brilliant to see everyone encouraging one another, facing fears, taking on new challenges, and having so much fun along the way. The confidence, resilience, and teamwork on display were incredible.

After all the excitement, we enjoyed some delicious sausages fresh from the local butcher, followed by team games and archery. 🎯🌭

As a youth worker, I couldn’t be prouder of every young person who took part. They embraced every challenge, supported each other, and made the day one to remember. We had so much fun

Safe to say, after all the walking, climbing, jumping off waterfalls, and keeping up with the young people, I can barely move this morning! 😂💪

🏆🎉 A fantastic session at Framwellgate Youth Club! 🎉🏆

The young people asked to bake cupcakes, and that’s exactly what we delivered! ⚽🏀🏈🧁

Everyone got involved in the activities and then headed to the kitchen to bake and decorate their own cupcakes. The finished results looked amazing and tasted absolutely fabulous!

It was great to see so much creativity, teamwork, and enthusiasm throughout the session. Well done to all the young people who took part – you did a fantastic job! 👏😊

Building Connections Across Continents

We were delighted to hear from our Trustee, Don Irving, about the impact that donated football shirts from the North East have made for young people in Zambia.

During a recent visit, Don supported youth work projects and community organisations that engage children and young people through sport. Thanks to the generosity of local donors, over 200 football shirts were collected and distributed, providing young people with access to equipment that would otherwise be out of reach.

As an organization, we are excited to explore opportunities to build links with youth projects in Zambia through the Association for Youth Work Studies (AYWS). We hope this partnership will foster shared learning, cultural exchange, and lasting connections between young people in County Durham and Zambia.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated shirts and helped make this possible.

Take a look back at our Youth Voice journey from January to now!

This collection of photos highlights some of the fantastic activities and discussions our young people have been involved in over the past few months. From lively debates and discussions to escaping a deserted island to even creating their own politicians, our members have been exploring how democracy works and why having a voice matters.

Along the way, they have learned about decision-making, leadership, and representation. We are incredibly proud of their enthusiasm, creativity, and willingness to share their ideas.

In the next few weeks, we'll be creating our own youth workers and understanding how our young people's voices can influence youth work and their youth club!

Thank you to everyone who has been part of Youth Voice so far – we can't wait to see what the next few months bring! 🌟

To finish off the session, we enjoyed cheese, chip and garlic wraps before taking part in some sports activities indoors.

🌟 Our young people have been working incredibly hard on their café project! From planning and preparing to serving the youth club crew . creating delicious dishes, they showed fantastic teamwork, 🫣😂. creativity, and dedication. We even had the chance to rate their creations, and we were so impressed by their effort and ideas. The videos say it all – what a brilliant achievement! 👏☕
