💚 CAN YOU HELP US SPREAD THE WORD IN CHOPWELL? 📰

Four times a year, Chopwell Regeneration Group produces a community newsletter, bringing together local news, activities, events, opportunities and stories from across our village.

We gather the content, put it all together and deliver it through doors across Chopwell, helping residents stay connected with what's happening in their community.

But we could really use a few extra pairs of hands! 🙌

We're looking for volunteers to help us get our next newsletter out to the village.

📦 HELP US GET ORGANISED
Wednesday 18th – Friday 20th November

We're looking for people who can spare a little time at The Bank to help bundle and prepare newsletters ready for delivery.

🚶 HELP US DELIVER
Saturday 21st – Sunday 29th November

Could you help deliver newsletters to homes in your street or a few streets nearby?

Simply collect a bundle from The Bank, Chopwell, and help us get the latest community news through people's doors.

You don't need to do everything or commit to lots of time. Whether you can help prepare newsletters, deliver to a handful of streets or take on a larger area, every bit of support makes a difference.

💚 And we'd love this to become something we do together every quarter!

Our newsletter is about celebrating our community, sharing opportunities and making sure people know what's happening right on their doorstep.

Not everyone uses Facebook or social media, so getting a newsletter through the door remains an important way of reaching people across the village.

By giving just a little of your time, you can help us reach the whole of Chopwell.

💚 YOU SAID, WE LISTENED!

A new service is coming to Chopwell!

At Chopwell Regeneration Group, we're always looking at ways to improve access to services that can make a difference to local people.

We know that managing household finances isn't always easy, particularly when unexpected costs arise or you're trying to put a little money aside for Christmas, birthdays or those bigger household expenses.

That's why we're pleased to welcome Moneywise Credit Union to The Bank, Chopwell, where they will be operating a new weekly savings collection point for local residents.

💷 What does this mean for you?

Moneywise members will be able to visit The Bank and make cash deposits into their savings accounts, helping them save regularly without needing to travel outside the village.

Whether you're saving a few pounds each week, planning for future expenses or putting money aside for your children or grandchildren, this is another service available right here in Chopwell.

IMPORTANT – BEFORE YOU VISIT

To use the collection point, you must first become a member of Moneywise Credit Union.

Visit www.moneywise.org.uk to join and open a savings account.

Make sure you have your Membership Number.

Bring your Membership Number with you when making your first cash deposit at The Bank.

This service is operated by Moneywise Credit Union, not CRG. We're pleased to provide space at The Bank to help make the service more accessible to residents.

For us, community regeneration is also about bringing useful services closer to the people who need them.

Another service for Chopwell, without having to leave Chopwell. 💚

📸 A really proud moment at CRG today.

Over recent weeks, we’ve been supporting one of our volunteers to explore his talent for digital photography and think about how that creativity could potentially become something more.

Our staff have been working with him to build confidence, explore digital entrepreneurship and, importantly, give him a platform to showcase his work.

Today, he made his first sale. 💚

A local resident buying a piece of work created by a local volunteer – with the photograph itself taken right here in the area surrounding Chopwell.

It might look like one photograph and one sale, but for us it represents much more than that.

It’s someone recognising that a skill or hobby has value.
It’s building confidence through a real achievement.
It’s developing enterprise and employability skills.
And it’s our community supporting talent from within our community.

This is why we do what we do.

Volunteering should create opportunities for people to discover what they’re good at, develop their skills and see where those skills might take them.

Hopefully this is the first sale of many.

And a big thank you to the customer who bought the photograph – you haven't just bought a lovely piece of local photography, you've supported someone taking their first step with their talent. 👏📸

🥧 Fancy doing something a bit different on a Saturday?

Our Men’s Pie Club is about much more than making pies.

It’s a chance to get out of the house, meet other local men, have a chat, learn something new and enjoy a couple of hours in a relaxed environment at The Bank, Chopwell.

There’s no cost, no experience needed and no pressure – just come along and give it a go.

🏡 THERE’S STILL TIME TO HAVE YOUR SAY! 💚

A huge thank you to everyone who has already responded to our community consultation about the plans for our new community building on Derwent Street.

We’ve had some fantastic responses, ideas and suggestions so far – and it’s great to see people taking the time to tell us what you want to see from the building.

But we still want to hear from more of you! 👇

If you live in Chopwell or the surrounding area and haven’t completed the consultation yet, there’s still time to get involved.
The new building represents a really exciting opportunity for CRG and our community, with ideas around:

♻️ Expanding our repair, reuse and recycling activities
🛠️ Developing our Library of Things
🚲 Bike repair and rental
🎓 Training and skills opportunities
🤝 Volunteering and supported work placements
🏡 More space for community services and activities

But before plans are finalised, we want the community to help shape them.
