🍎 Calling all apple lovers! 🍎
We’ve had lots of queries about picking fruit from our orchard, so here are a few things to remember:

🌳 Our orchard is for everyone to enjoy, so please only take what you can use.
🍏 Only pick ripe fruit. Gently lift or twist the apple — if it comes away easily, it’s ready. If it needs pulling, leave it a little longer.
🍎 Fallen apples are also fine to eat or cook with, as long as they’re in good condition.
🗺️ Don’t forget our fruit tree map! It identifies the different trees and tells you whether they are eating or cooking apples, helping you choose the right fruit.

Thank you for helping us look after the orchard and sharing the fruit with everyone. ❤️🌳

Wow! Last night truly was the most magical evening. It was amazing to see the orchard being loved and used by the families in the local community.

We have to give special thanks to Churches of St Barnabas & St Patrick, Parish of High Spen & Rowlands Gill who came and ran the tombola and cake stall.

Bounce North East for the inflatable slide and High Strothers Farm for the amazing hog roast.

And of course to the very small but mighty team behind Highfield Village Community Action Group your hard work each week ensuring the orchard is maintained and protected for the whole community is amazing. Events like last night couldn’t happen with you!

We have one unclaimed raffle prize: blue 161-164

Thank you all who came and supported this event all the money raised goes back into maintaining the orchard and future events 💚

🌟🍏 It’s Back! An Evening Under the Orchard Sky 🍏🌟

Highfield Village Community Action Group, in collaboration with St Patrick’s Church, is delighted to bring back our much-loved Evening Under the Orchard Sky!

Join us on Friday 28th August, 5–8 pm in the Highfield Community Orchard for a fantastic evening of food, fun, and community.

There’s something for everyone, including:

🍻 Refreshments (including a bar!)
🎈 Inflatable Slide
🎯 Prize Stalls
🎂 Cake Stall

Bring your friends, family, and a picnic blanket, relax under the late summer sky, and enjoy a wonderful evening with your local community.
