Hello Everyone,we are planning a free webinar on January 19th at 6pm for those of you with advanced thyroid cancer , thyroid cancer that no longer responds to RAI ,poorly differentiated thyroid cancer and anaplastic thyroid cancer .

We are delighted ( and honoured) that Prof Jon Wadsley ( Sheffield) and Prof Kate Newbold ( Royal Marsden ) will be joining us ,they are leading thyroid cancer experts in the UK.

They will be talking about the disease ,latest treatment options and what’s upcoming .

They will take questions but cannot comment on individual clinical circumstances.

I am writing to ask you if you could help advertise our event? We are keen to find a volunteer who received radioactive iodine treatment as part of their treatment as this is a procedure that medical physics students will be closely involved in.

The details of the event are below
Date: Monday 9 November 10am - 2pm
Location: Newcastle University main campus city centre behind RVI .

The aim of the event is for the students to gain some insights into the experience of being a patient. Since most medical physics services do not involve direct patient contact, this is an important opportunity for our students to learn from patients regarding your experience, both of your hospital visits and treatments and also your experience in living with a particular condition.
The event consists of three sessions each with groups of 6-8 students who will ask you about your experience for about 45 minutes. This will then be followed by lunch together provided by the University. The university will reimburse any travel expenses for participating in the event.

For anyone currently taking part in the HoT Trial :

The HoT participant video is currently in
progress and we are looking for HoT
participants who are happy to discuss
their trial experience. It will take no
more than 45 minutes (15 minutes for a
introductory/preparation call and then
30 minutes to film the video) and
reimbursement can be provided to
participants. Please email
[email protected] if any of your HoT
participants would like to be involved!
Once the video has been completed,
sites will be able to share it with
participants that are suitable for HoT.

Hi Everyone,
We would like to ask for your support with a new:survey about RAI treatment please .
We did this ten years ago and had a huge response .
These surveys mean that service providers can learn how patients are feeling about their RAI experience and tell us where in the UK things are going well or where improvements are required .
If you’ve had RAI in the UK , or you are a parent of a child who has ,in the last five years please complete our survey ,this should only take 10/15 minutes if your time.
If you are a member of a thyroid cancer FB group please share this with them .
We hope to present your results at the next World Congress and we will ,of course ,keep you updated .
