As part of the Holiday Activities Programme, we've got an action-packed summer lined up with activities running throughout all six weeks of the holidays at both Blaydon Youth and Community Centre CIO and The Winlaton Centre.

From exciting trips and adventures to creative and fun-filled sessions, there's something to suit every personality and interest!

✅ Places are available for children and young people who have received HAF vouchers through their school.

First Aid North East have decided to put on a CPR & Defib Familiarisation session for community members. The awareness session will be held at Blaydon Youth & Community Centre (BYCC) on Tuesday 30th June from 6pm, and will last approximately 1 hour ⛑️

The aim of this short session is to increase awareness and build confidence in how to perform effective Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and how to operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) 💚

This invitation is open to residents of all ages who are local to BYCC, as this where the your community Defib is located 👍🏼

🧸 Toddler Club Returns TOMORROW!

With the excitement of Blaydon Races now behind us and normal service resumed at the Centre, we're delighted to welcome everyone back to Toddler Club tomorrow.

Our Toddler Club is a great opportunity for little ones to play, learn, and make friends, while parents, carers, grandparents, and childminders can enjoy a chat and a cuppa in a friendly and welcoming environment.

If you missed us on Monday because of the race preparations, don't worry – we'll be back as normal and looking forward to seeing everyone again.

No need to book – just come along and join the fun!

✅ Blaydon Races Centre Update – Wednesday 10th June

With another successful Blaydon Race now behind us, we'd like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding over the last few days.

We're pleased to confirm that normal service has almost resumed at the Centre, with the vast majority of activities and groups running as usual today.

We'd also like to thank everyone who helped make this year's Blaydon Race such a fantastic community event, from organisers and volunteers to runners, supporters, staff, and local residents.

It's been a busy few days, but we're looking forward to welcoming everyone back to the Centre as normal.

Through our new partnership with The Winlaton Centre Page, we're pleased to be expanding our youth service to run on Friday nights in Winlaton.

Please make sure you've registered beforehand if you are planning to attend.

📣 YOUTH NIGHT AT The Winlaton Centre IS BACK! 📣

We’re delighted to announce that youth provision is returning to The Winlaton Centre from Friday 12th June under a new partnership.

The Hive Youth Service will now be delivered in partnership between Blaydon Youth and Community Centre (BYCC) and The Winlaton Centre, following the news that Gateshead Youth Initiative (GYI) are ceasing trading.

We’d like to recognise and thank GYI for their work and commitment to local young people. We’re pleased to be able to continue building on that work, bringing together BYCC’s youth work experience and The Winlaton Centre’s strong local community base to provide safe, positive, and welcoming activities for young people in the area.
