If you would like to work with a Charity who supports people who have a learning disability and / or a mental health issue and think you could make a difference, then please get in touch - we'd love to hear from you. We have restarted recruitment now as we wanted to make sure it was safe and we were able to put in safe and effective recruitment and induction processes in place.
We are recruiting right now and always want to hear from the right person. Experience is not necessary. We offer excellent rates of pay, currently £11 per hour, and a paid comprehensive induction training and support package delivered by industry experts (and not through e-learning - though we are being very creative right now!) lasting around 4-6 weeks. This is followed by supernumerary shadow shifts with an experienced staff member before you work directly with service users. You will work in one house and not be expected to work anywhere else other than in exceptional circumstances. We have thorough protocols and procedures in place for social distancing wherever possible apart from those service users that require an element of personal care.
If you have the right attitudes and values we will support you through the process and teach you everything you need to know. (Well, almost everything!) Life experience of caring for others can be helpful.
There is a two stage interview process which is started by a formal interview then a second stage interview with service users that you may support. (social distancing and weather permitting) Only on success at stage two would you be offered a position. We feel this is an important part of you getting to know our clients and us getting to know you.
We also pay every member of staff, regardless of age, the same rate of pay. So whether you are any age from 18 to 85 we pay you the same.
We do not believe in zero hours contracts and guarantee a minimum of 35 hours a week for those that wish to work full-time. (People often work much more.) Our minimum contract offered is 16 hours. We will only expect you to work at one site in any working day, and you will usually be based in one location.
We give 30 days annual leave (inc BH) 2 days more than the required minimum.
We are a registered charity and every penny we make goes back into services. If you want to know more, look at our new website at...
