Kitchen Twinning: Turn your mealtimes into moments that matter!

What if every bite you took helped someone else fill their plate? With Petrus’ Kitchen Twinning programme, doing good is as easy as eating lunch.

By twinning your kitchen with ours at the Petrus Hub, you’ll help us serve up hot meals, emergency food parcels, and food vouchers to people who need them most 🙌

As a Kitchen Twin, you’ll commit to making a monthly, or annual donation toward the running of our Hub Kitchen, creating a bond that helps us ensure that people who are experiencing homelessness, or find themselves going hungry to pay bills, can access nutritious meals and stock their cupboards 💙

Imagine how good your food will taste when you know that every meal you enjoy is helping us serve up good food for those in need!

The wild weather isn’t stopping us from having an amazing time at Sefton Park! 🌦️✨

We’re thrilled to be sharing a beautiful community show garden inspired by local wise woman Ellen Wallace, a midwife and medical botanist who cared for the people of Rochdale in the 1800s.

Through our partnership with Touchstones, our volunteers and service users discovered Ellen’s remarkable story. Together, we’ve been helping redesign the Touchstones Museum garden, drawing on their collections and the rich local history that surrounds us.

To honour Ellen’s legacy, the team selected meaningful plants such as Yarrow, Bee Balm, and Lungwort. Though often seen as weeds today, these plants were once powerful remedies used to ease pain, support breathing, and heal wounds, a reminder of the deep roots of community care.

This theme of compassion resonates strongly with the Petrus team, who work closely with HART nurses to provide free health support to our service users at The Hub in Rochdale. It’s a story of people looking after people, past and present. 💚

Did you watch the first match of the World Cup Last night? ⚽

We’ve been feeling the World Cup spirit this week thanks to our brilliant friends and colleagues across The Regenda Group!

Teams from across the Group wore their favourite football shirts to work and donated £2 each, raising almost £170 to support people experiencing homelessness.

This generosity helps us continue providing safe spaces, personalised support and opportunities for people to rebuild their confidence and move forward with hope.

We'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who got involved and donated! It’s moments like these that remind us how powerful community can be in helping people change their lives.

If you fancy running a footie top fundraiser of your own, please contact our team by emailing [email protected]

Yesterday we joined charities, community organisations, schools, partners and wider supporters of Sefton Park Palm House to celebrate the official opening of our community show gardens!

There are 10 gardens for the public to explore, showcasing the power gardening has to bring people together and boost health and wellbeing.

Our garden is a celebration of local wise-woman, Ellen Wallace. Born in 1836, Ellen was a midwife and medical botanist, caring for people in Rochdale by prescribing home-grown herbal medicines and ointments.

To remember Ellen and the work she did the team have chosen plants such as Yarrow, Bee Balm and Lungwort. A lot of these plants are regarded today as weeds, but for centuries were used by people like Ellen to treat pain, help with breathing problems and heal wounds.

Come and enjoy the event!

We're getting things ready at Sefton Park Palm House!

We're one of ten community organisations bringing a garden to the venue to celebrate their 25th anniversary 🎉

At home in Rochdale, we've been working closely with Touchstones Museum to redesign their garden space, drawing inspiration from their collections and local history.

We're bringing this all the way to Liverpool to share what we've learned, the stories that inspired our garden and how we use gardening to support good mental health and wellbeing 💚🌿

Hope to see you there!

Petrus is on the road again, but instead of the RHS Tatton Park Flower Show, this year we’re heading to Liverpool!

We’ve been working with Touchstones Museum to redesign their garden space, drawing inspiration from their collections and local history.

But before this takes root outside the museum, we have the brilliant opportunity to share it at Sefton Park Palm House’s anniversary event.

Come down and see us in June, learn about the stories that inspired our garden and how Petrus uses gardening to support good mental health and wellbeing 💚🌿
