Things looked a little different for Jet Powell and Madeline Akinwumiju this weekend as they took part in the Rochdale AFC Community Trust and Petrus Community Change Lives Sleep Out to raise money for people experiencing homelessness.

“One night sleeping outside doesn't compare to the reality of homelessness, but it made me think about what it must be like not knowing where you're going to sleep, or whether you'll be safe.” - Maddy, For Generations To Come team.

Today is World Mental Health Day, a reminder of how important good mental health is and the part we can all play in supporting it.

This year’s theme is “Lived experiences heard: real voices, real change”, highlighting the importance of listening to people and making space for their experiences.

Strong communities are built by people looking out for one another. We won’t always know what someone else is going through, but we can all play a part in making it easier to talk, ask for support and feel less alone.

Today is about reflecting on this, but looking after our mental health and supporting the people around us matters every day.
