🚶♂️🌿 Boundary Walk 2026 🌿🚶♀️
We have changed the date of the Boundary Walk to better reflect the original purpose of “Beating the Bounds” of the village on Rogation Sunday, after the crops have been sown.
📅 Sunday 17th May
🕦 Meet at 11.30am
📍 Village Hall car park
Please bring a packed lunch.
⚠️ Shorts are not advisable as some of the fields we pass through contain nettles.
The walk is mostly flat and approximately 8 miles long, following the parish boundaries as closely as possible. The route is mainly off-road and takes in beautiful heathland and woodland, including:
🌳 Silchester Common
🌲 The edge of Pamber Forest
🍃 Bridles Copse
🌿 Bramley Frith
💧 The ancient water meadows and fish ponds
🛤 Odd Lane – an ancient Saxon track
🏛 Through the Roman Town and back to the village
🐶 Well-behaved dogs are welcome, although they may need to be kept on leads for short stretches where livestock are present.
We are also looking for a volunteer to help support this event — if you can help, please get in touch.
We hope you can join us for a wonderful day exploring the historic boundaries of our parish!
