🎬 That's a wrap on this year's Silchester Scarecrow Trail!

We hope everyone who took part enjoyed exploring the village, spotting the scarecrows and having a go at solving the anagram. We're glad it wasn't a complete washout and that we were treated to some lovely sunny autumnal days along the way! 🍂

We'd like to give a special shout-out to the village organisations who got involved:

👏 Silchester Pop Up Café and The Calleva Arms - Silchester, for creating their own scarecrows and helping us sell trail maps.

A huge thank you also goes to all the households who took part and put so much time, creativity and imagination into their scarecrows. We loved seeing what you came up with!

And to everyone who picked up a map and joined in, thank you for supporting the trail.

Silchester Scarecrow Trail starts tomorrow!🎬

Looking for something fun to do with the kids over half term? Our movie-themed Scarecrow Trail is the perfect excuse to get out and about, with a route that's just the right length for little legs!

Maps are just £2 and are available now from Silchester Pop Up Café (Wednesday and Friday) or from The Calleva Arms - Silchester (from 12pm daily).

So, whether you fancy a coffee and cake while the kids get their walking shoes on, or a well-earned drink at the pub after completing the trail, we've got you covered! 😉 🍂

MORE TICKETS RELEASED! 🎆

Following the incredible demand for this year's Silchester Fireworks Night, we're delighted to announce that we've released our remaining on-the-gate ticket allocation for advance purchase!

We're so grateful for the fantastic support and have now sold out of all 1,000 early bird tickets.

These additional tickets are at our standard on-the-gate prices, as they are the tickets we originally held back for purchase on the evening itself. This means a small increase from the early bird prices.

We are anticipating a complete sell-out, so please don't leave it too late! Given the demand, we expect there will be no tickets available to purchase on the gate on the night.

🎆 80% OF TICKETS SOLD! 🎆

We're thrilled to see such a fantastic response to this year's Silchester Fireworks & Bonfire Night! It looks like you're looking forward to it just as much as we are!

With just over three weeks to go, we've already sold 80% of our tickets!

We're looking forward to welcoming everyone to Silchester House for a brilliant evening, with a spectacular fireworks display set to iconic movie soundtracks, our bonfire, hot food and drinks and licensed bar.

Gates open at 5:30pm, with fireworks starting at 7pm.

As for previous Silchester Firework events we will be collecting wood from villagers for the bonfire.

We would like both wood, and evergreen branches to dress the bonfire. I am afraid we cannot accept any painted furniture or any other materials that may give off noxious fumes.

We can accept wood with nails in.

Collections will take place on the weekend before event i.e. 31st October and 1st November.

There are still tickets available for Professor Mike Fulford's talk at Silchester Village Hall tomorrow evening.

This won't be quite the usual talk. Mike is bringing some of the actual archaeological finds with him, giving you the chance to see them up close and, in some cases, handle them.
