Caspar has joined our French polishing training programme, funded by City & Guilds Foundation, alongside Kyle, our first bursary trainee.

Under the expert guidance of master polisher Stewart Kemp The Wooden Mouse French Polishing both are developing their skills at a remarkable pace.

French polishing requires patience, rhythm and attention to the smallest detail, qualities they are demonstrating in abundance.

We are proud to support their journey into a craft that rewards dedication with lifelong mastery.

What a wonderful event and we are so excited for the August barbecue too. Much gratitude to Mark and Lee for their generosity in doing this - they do so so much for local causes and we are so grateful to be this month’s recipients 👏👏❤️❤️😍😍

Their tea room is outstanding, amazing pastries and delicious breakfasts and lunches in a lovely rural setting so do give it a try ❤️

We met 4 years ago, through the devastating loss of our sons — two families forever changed by grief, but determined to create change from heartbreak.

Both STAK.life CIC and Sammy's Foundation are working to improve outcomes for neurodivergent young people in Thanet by raising awareness, challenging stigma, advocating for understanding, and fighting for support that is compassionate, accessible, and neuro-affirming.

Sammy's Foundation also supports neurodivergent young people to develop high-end Heritage Crafts— creating meaningful opportunities for employment, confidence, creativity, and purpose, whilst helping keep important traditional crafts and skills alive for future generations.

Together, through lived experience, community action, education, creative skills, and su***de prevention work, we continue to stand beside families and young people who need to know they are not alone.

Spring has been glorious, vibrant colours have unfolded, sunshine has returned.

In much the same way, as we move into our second year, the talents of the young people we support are beginning to bloom. Each person carries a gift. With time, encouragement and skilled teaching, that gift can grow into something vibrant and uniquely their own.

Our role is simply to help these gifts flourish and share them with the world, giving young people a new sense of purpose and preserving Britain’s valuable heritage crafts.

If you’re East Kent way, visit Taddy's Barn Tearoom & Eatery, for Sunday breakfast. It’s a pretty spot and such delicious food, PLUS they do so much to help local causes too. ❤️They have supported MANY including Sammy’s Foundation and continue to do so with a bingo night on 8th June and a barbecue in August. So please give them a visit for a relaxed Sunday breakfast or weekday lunch ❤️

Ellie shows an extraordinary natural aptitude for pattern and structure.

She completed this canework stool in under four days, despite never having attempted the technique before. Her concentration and instinctive understanding of rhythm and tension impressed everyone present.

Working under the calm and expert guidance of tutor , Ellie’s achievement is something she should feel rightly proud of.

Opportunities like these are truly invaluable - opening doors, sparking possibility, and showing that the world of craft and interior design is one that the young people we support can genuinely belong to and thrive in.

We're so proud to have crafted the turned wood lamp bases for the Lampshade Painting Workshop led by .alvaro.picardo at the Illuminating Worlds Workshop for .

Our four trainees used Alvaro's lamp as a model for their four-day woodturning course. It was exciting to see them on display at London showroom, complete with lampshades in .alvaro.picardo iconic designs.
